Review: Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer

Hi guys! Today I am reviewing the Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 20. I have been wearing this for a couple of months now, and I am very pleased with it, so I thought I would do a review for you!

Product Claims:
-Light to medium coverage
-Oil-free
-SPF 20
-Gives a natural, sheer finish
-Great for all skin types

This product comes in a plastic, 1 oz squeeze tube, which is my favorite type of packaging for foundation. (I don’t like glass bottles) I purchased the lightest shade, Fair, and the color matches me perfectly since I don’t have a tan right now.

The shade selection is great because they have shades for both cool and warm undertones.
Now, onto the wear. I don’t think this product is necessarily moisturizing, but I think it would feel too heavy to layer a moisturizer on underneath it. I usually just spritz my face with some MAC Fix Plus before I apply it. I take a small amount and I just dot it all over my face and rub it in like I would moisturizer.

This is very creamy and blends in easily. I am surprised at the amount of coverage this stuff gives! It is also buildable, so you can go back over any areas that you feel need more coverage. I do have to use undereye concealer with this, as usual. I usually set this with some MAC Studio Fix or Make Up For Ever HD powder. I can usually get about 7-8 hours of wear out of this before it starts to wear off, which is fine for me. I use this for everyday wear. I wouldn’t use this for a special occasion, just because I would want a more flawless finish for a special event; my freckles still show through this stuff.

If you are looking for a good, lightweight tinted moisturizer, I would definitely recommend this one. You can pick this up at Sephora.

Fall & Winter Nail Polish Picks!

20131012-164404.jpg

Hi everyone! Today I have a post about my favorite nail polishes to use in fall and winter.

1. OPI “California Raspberry”

20131012-163851.jpg
This is a reddish-pink color with some shimmer to it. You only need one coat of this nail polish for it to be opaque, and the color doesn’t streak.

2. Essie “Merino Cool”

20131012-164001.jpg
This color is a taupe-y gray color, and looks great with any outfit. Although this color is a cream and doesn’t have any shimmer to it, it goes on a little streaky, so you have to use a couple of coats. I always get compliments when I wear this polish.

3. Sephora By OPI “Keep Me On My Mistletoes”

20131012-164104.jpg
This is a shimmery gold color that is sooo pretty. This would be a great polish to wear for a holiday party since it has so much sparkle.

4. Loreal “Paparazzi Pleaser”

20131012-164254.jpg
This is a pretty, creamy purple color. Loreal’s nail polishes are really good and have great color payoff. I usually only need one coat of this nail polish for it to look great.

5. Orly “Lucky Duck”

This is a nice kelly green color. It goes on smooth and creamy, and it would be great for Christmas!

Ipsy Glambag October 2013

20131018-111352.jpg
Hey guys! Today I am going to share with you what I got in my October Ipsy Glambag. For those of you who don’t know, Ipsy is a beauty sample subscription box where you pay $10 a month (you can cancel anytime) and they send you a grab bag full of goodies based on your profile every month. Most of the time they send full size products! The value of what is in the box is always over $10, and it’s a great way to try out new products!

This month’s bag was called “The Art of Beauty”, and came with 5 products.

1. Nourish Organic Deeply Nourishing Coconut & Argan Body Lotion– 1 oz Value $1.50
2. Sexy Hair Blow-Dry Volumizing Gel – 1.7 oz Value $3
I have never tried anything from this Nourish Organic brand, but this lotion smells amazing, and I like that it is made from all natural ingredients. I love all of the Big Sexy Hair products, especially this gel. Since it is alcohol free, it doesn’t leave your hair crunchy. I will save this smaller size for travelling.

3. Zoya Nail Polish in Neve – FULL SIZE! Value $8
4. Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster Potent Vitamin C Booster – 0.25 oz Value – $12
5. Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tipsy – FULL SIZE! Value $12

Yay! A nail polish!! I freaking love getting nail polishes in my Ipsy bags. This color is beautiful, it is a royal blue with purple and blue shimmer. This is from the new Zoya fall collection for 2013. This collagen serum looks interesting, and I know that this brand is very pricey. I’m excited to try it! The lipliner is really pretty, but I think I will probably save it for summer since it is a bright, coral pink color. Overall, I am very pleased with this month’s bag.

I paid $10 for this box, and the total value of the items came out to $36.50! I was pleased to see that once again, full size products were included.

So, what did you get in your Ipsy bag?

All of the colors in the collection are dark jewel toned colors like this one.

3 Simple Ways to Tie a Scarf

Hi everyone! Scarves are super popular this year, they can transform a t-shirt and leggings into a chic outfit in no time! There are a thousand ways to tie them, but here are my 3 favorite ways to wear my scarves.

1.

20131012-154820.jpg
Fold your scarf in half and wrap it around your neck with the ends in the front. Take the fringed end of the scarf and tuck it into the other side, and pull tight!

2.

Drape the scarf around your neck with the ends in the back. Cross them in the back and bring them to the front. Tie them in a knot, and pull tight!

3.

Drape the scarf around your neck with the ends in the back. Cross them into the back and bring them to the front. Take each end of the scarf and wrap it around the part that is around your neck a couple of times, and pull the neck part down a little until it’s to your liking.

What’s your favorite way to wear a scarf?
