How To Get Smooth, Flake-Free Lips

Hi Guys! I’m back with a new post for you, and it’s all about how you can get smooth, flake-free lips! The weather is cooling off outside, and even though that means drier air for your hair (yay, no humidity), it’s bad for the ol’ lips! If you are like me, you get really chapped lips, and in order to wear those gorgeous fall lip colors, you gotta exfoliate and moisturize, girlfriend! So, here’s how to do it.

1. EXFOLIATE

Let’s get all the dead skin off! Exfoliating your lips will leave them so soft and smooth. All you need is some sugar and lemon juice, and mix them together! Voila! A homemade lip treatment! Apply this to your lips and rub, rub, rub! The best part about this lip scrub is that you can just lick it off. Yummy. This preps your lips for some moisture.

2. MOISTURIZE

I can never get enough of lip balm. My favorite is this Dior Creme de Rose lip balm, but you can use any lip balm of your liking. I also like these cool EOS lip balms, this one is in Dragonfruit. Applying these throughout the day and before you go to bed can help leave your lips soft.

3. PRIME

If I am wearing lipstick, as opposed to a tinted lip balm, I like to apply some of this MAC Prep+Prime for lips. This is not a lip balm, it is a primer for lipstick. You apply it to your lips, and wait about 5 minutes before applying your lipstick. This adheres to your lipstick and helps with the staying power.

4. TINTED LIP BALMS

I LOVE tinted lipbalms! They are a one-step product for your lips, and super easy to apply throughout the day. My favorites are the Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue, which are different from the original Baby Lips because they have menthol in them to give you that nice tingle feeling. They are very moisturizing and give off a sheer wash of color. The other one I like is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose. This also gives sheer color while leaving your lips super soft.

Hope you guys liked this post! Have a great day.

  1. I have never thought to make my own lip scrub, good idea! I have a lip scrub by lush I always use and I love it! Have you used lush products? Amazing! !

    1. Yeah! It is very simple to make, and it works just as good as the ones you can buy. Yes, I love Lush! I had a bubblegum lip scrub I used to use, and I have tried a couple of their shampoos and conditioners, and the bath bombs. The nearest Lush is about an hour away though, so I never get to go. I miss the one in La Cantera!!

      1. I have the bubble gum one! I also love there face masks! I didn’t know of one in la cantera! Where is it? I have only been to the one located inside Macy’s at North Star.

      2. I want to try their face masks!! Oh, you’re right! It’s in the Macy’s at North Star, not La Cantera! They should put one there, though! They have every other shop!!
