Hi everyone! I have received some requests for reviews and questions on what to buy at MAC. I use a lot of MAC makeup, so I thought I could share some tips on what to buy if you are looking for a concealer, because they do have quite a few different kinds. I have four different types of concealers. I have the Studio Finish concealer that comes in a little pot, the Pro Longwear concealer that is in a tiny glass vial with a pump, the Select Cover concealer in a squeeze tube, and lastly the Prep + Prime Highlighting concealer that comes in a twist up pen. When buying a concealer, you always want to go a shade or two lighter than your regular foundation shade, because you want to brighten your face and not add any darkness to it. I usually wear NW20 in MAC foundation, so I usually pick up NW15 in concealer.
Studio Finish Concealer
The Studio Finish concealer comes in a little pot, similar to their eyeshadow packaging. This concealer is very creamy, and perfect for any blemishes or discoloration on your face. I do not use this under my eyes, because I find it to be too drying for the eye area and it settles into fine lines. This concealer is perfect to keep in your purse for a quick touch up, and you can use your finger or a brush for quick application. I wear shade NW15.
Pro Longwear Concealer
This is by far my favorite concealer from MAC. This concealer is so multi purpose, and can be used anywhere on your face. It comes in a tiny glass bottle with a little pump. You can use it underneath your eyes, and it is one of the only concealers I have found that does not crease under there, and it stays all day. I like to use this concealer mixed with my moisturizer for a tinted moisturizer that applies smoothly and gives great coverage. You can also use this to cover blemishes, redness, or whatever you need to cover. This is, in my opinion, the best concealer ever. I have yet to find one as good as this, and I have tried THEM ALL. I wear shade NW15 in this also.
This concealer comes in a small squeeze tube, and is heavy duty! A little bit of this goes a long way, so this little tube will last forever. This concealer reminds me a lot of Hard Candy’s Glamoflauge Concealer or Make Up For Ever’s Full Cover Concealer. It is thick, but still creamy, and will cover anything on the skin and stay put all day. This is also a good concealer to use for blemishes or redness. I don’t use this concealer underneath my eyes because I find it too heavy for the skin under there and it also creases pretty bad. I have shade NW20.
Prep + Prime
This is the Prep + Prime highlighting pen in Radiant Rose. This is very similar to the YSL Touché Éclat or Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting pens. This is a salmon toned concealer that I like to use underneath my eyes to cancel out the blue toned under eye circles and brighten up the area. It gives great coverage, and is very smooth and creamy on the skin. You can also use this to highlight your cheekbones, browbones, or whatever you like to highlight on your face.
I hope I helped if you are new to MAC or if you just want to purchase a new concealer. I like MAC because I think all of their products are great quality, and they always have something for everyone. While still high-end, they are more affordable than other brands that you can find at Sephora.
Thanks for reading, and have a great day 🙂

I have tried them all and my favorite is the select cover up! I found the studio finish was way to thick and the long wear turned orange on me yet it was nc15. Very odd. Great post x
I love the select cover up too! I have too dark of a shade though, and I need to go get my right shade. Glad you liked the post! 🙂
