Hi everyone! A couple of days ago, I was in CVS and I saw a display for a new Maybelline mascara. I think Maybelline makes some of the best mascara, I love the Rocket Volum’ Express and also the Falsies mascara.
This new mascara caught my eye because it is in a hot pink tube, and I can’t resist anything hot pink! It also has the same shape as The Rocket, which is my all-time favorite mascara.
I picked this up from CVS for $7.99, and there were a couple of different colors, but I just went for “Classic Black”. I didn’t get the waterproof version of this mascara, because I find that waterproof mascaras are too hard to get off and I don’t have a problem with mascara smudging or anything throughout the day.
This mascara is infused with Collagen, and is supposed to add 16X the volume for your lashes. The wand is a huge, oval shaped brush with soft bristles. I really like mascaras with bigger wands, but I like to use a mascara with a smaller brush on my bottom lashes, like Clinique’s Bottom Lash Mascara or Loreal’s Telescopic.
The formula is pretty “wet”, but it doesn’t get clumpy on me at all. I curled my lashes before applying this, and I applied 2 coats. This mascara did not really hold the curl, or give the volume that it promised. It does lengthen, however. It gave me really long, natural looking lashes, which I really liked! It didn’t make my lashes look thick or add much volume at all.
Overall, I do like this mascara. If you are looking for something that looks natural, but adds length, this is the one for you! This is a good mascara to use for everyday wear because it does look very natural and pretty. It also doesn’t make my lashes feel stiff, which is always good.
