MOMMY Monday : Handprint Sun Craft

Hi everyone! My oldest daughter and I love to do arts and crafts during the day. She loves anything having to do with coloring or painting, so we have fun doing little art projects together in her playroom. Today I wanted to show you a cute project we made so you can make it with your kids! She loved making this and I love anything having to do with hand or foot prints- that way you can save it and look back on it and see how little their prints were! So this is just a sun made out of a paper plate and handprints. My daughter absolutely loved making this and has requested that we make a pink one tomorrow. So here’s how you make it!

What you need:

20140727-232632.jpg
-yellow and orange construction paper
-yellow paint
-paper plate
-glue stick
-black marker
-scissors
-paintbrush
-pencil

20140727-234509.jpg

The first thing you’re going to do is paint the entire back of the paper plate yellow. You want to do this first, so that it has time to dry while you make the handprints.

Next you are going to trace handprints on the yellow and orange paper. We traced six handprints on each page.

20140727-234852.jpg

Cut out all of the handprints and glue them around the underside of the paper plate (by now the paint will be dry).

20140727-235102.jpg

Flip it over and you have your sun! But, it needs one last thing- a face!

How cute is this? Allison had so much fun making this, and I hope your kids do too if you try it out!

Summer Beauty Essentials

20140722-195348.jpg

Hi everyone! Summer is in full swing, and I love everything about it. I love the warm weather, summer fashion, and especially getting to use all of my favorite beauty products! Today I am going to share with you my must-have beauty essentials for summer.

20140722-195851.jpg

Jergens Natural Glow Gradual Tanning Lotion in Medium to Tan – I have mentioned this in past posts, but I am OBSESSED with this stuff. I only use this on my legs, because for some reason they never get as tan as my arms do in the summertime. You don’t have to worry about using gloves with this, and it always comes out evenly and never gets streaky on me. It is a gradual tanner, so it just gives subtle color. It is perfect!

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Coconut Lime – this is an all over scrub that exfoliates your skin and smells AMAZING. It makes my skin soft and is nice to use before applying self tanner. There are a couple of different scents, but the Coconut Lime is my favorite.

Sexy Hair Curly Sexy Hair Curling Cream – I like to use a product like this when I don’t feel like blow drying my hair…which is a lot of the time. Unlike gel, this is a cream for your hair that doesn’t give that crunchy or wet look. I apply just a small amount to damp hair, and it looks like I have natural beachy waves in my hair when it dries. It also helps with frizz for those humid days.

20140722-200911.jpg

Oh, bright nail color…you are my weakness. Seriously, nothing makes me happier (well, maybe donuts) than looking down at my nails and having a bright summery manicure! These are some of my favorite colors.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Pacific Blue – this color really looks good on the nails. It is a bright, island blue color that is unlike any other color in my collection. Every time I wear this, someone asks me about it. The formula of these nail polishes are awesome, and they have a big selection of colors.

Essie in Cute As A Button – The. Perfect. Coral. I have a coral addiction, and this coral is the prettiest I’ve seen. It isn’t a dark coral, it is a light coral that leans pink toned instead of orange toned. So pretty, and makes you look tan!

Maybelline Color Show in Lust For Lilac – This color is like a neon lavender. I own other pale purples and lavender colors, but this lavender is different. It has a bright quality about it that really stands out. It’s a great color for summer.

20140722-201914.jpg

NARS Cream Blush in Enchanted – I love me some cream blush for summer. It is so easy to apply, and looks all glowy on the cheeks. This is an orange toned coral, but don’t be afraid, it goes on very sheer, and looks very flattering on practically every skin tone!

Lastly, I picked out three of these crayon-type lip products, because I love these for summer. You don’t need a gloss with any of these, so they are perfect to just throw in your bag and use when you’re on-the-go!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Plum Jam – this is a very sheer berry red color that gives a lot of shine and smells like vanilla cupcakes! So pretty for a natural look on the lips.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish – this is a bright pink color that is so good for summer. It is a stain, but it feels like a lip balm, and doesn’t dry out your lips.

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Tint in Elite – I saved the best for last, y’all. Excuse me while I go to Sephora and buy every freakin’ color of this magical lip crayon. I never thought I would like anything more than the Revlon ones until I tried THIS. This color is seriously the prettiest coral pink, and oh baby does it stain. It’s like a sheer stain though, and it feels like butter on the lips. It has a minty type scent like the Revlon ones, and kind of tingles when you apply it. Can you tell I love this? Tarte never lets me down.

Ok, so that’s it for my summer essentials! What are your essential beauty products for summertime?

MOMMY Monday – What’s In My Diaper Bag?

20140720-224621.jpg
Hi guys! Welcome to my first Mommy Monday post. Today I am going to show you what I like to keep in my purse/diaper bag! I hope this is helpful to expectant moms, or moms who need ideas on what they should pack with them when taking the kiddos out.

20140720-224721.jpg

I don’t use a traditional diaper bag, I prefer to just use a really big purse! I am currently carrying the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM as my diaper bag. This purse is just one big tote, so I ordered this purse organizer from Purse To Go, so that I would have some organization and a lot of different compartments. They have a lot of different colors in this organizer, but I chose the cream color so it would match the bag.

20140720-224753.jpg

Changing Pad – this is a plastic coated changing pad that rolls up really small. This is a must have for my bag when I have to change the baby in a restroom or a public place.

Diapers – I like Pampers Swaddlers best for newborns. They have the yellow line in the front that changes to blue when the diaper is wet.

Wipes – I like to buy the Kirkland’s brand from Costco.

Simethicone Drops – these are infant drops for gas, they are good to have just in case Ashley is feeling uncomfortable.

Kleenex – these travel packs of tissues are another must have! I always need to wipe faces or fingers.

Hand Sanitizing Wipes – these wipes from Babyganics come in these nifty little individual wrappers and are alcohol free- so you can use them on faces, hands, even pacifiers.

Pacifier – or Binky as we call it. My 3 year old never used one of these, but Ashley really likes them. These are the Avent ones for newborns with little sheep on them.

Socks – baby feet get very cold, so I like to have an extra pair of socks just in case.

Burpcloth – I like these Gerber brand burpcloths. They are thick and very soft. I use these to clean up any drool or spit up.

20140721-000007.jpg

Giant Ziplock bag – this is a must have also! This is great to have in the bag just in case the baby has an accident and stains their clothes. Just change them and throw the dirty ones in this ziplock so it doesn’t get your bag all dirty. Lifesaver.

Extra Change of Clothes – I just have little floral printed onesie in here just in case.

Snacks – I like to keep a few snacks in my bag just in case we get hungry while out and about. I like these Kind bars, and Allison likes squeezies and raisins.

Activity – I always keep some type of book or activity for Allison in my bag just in case she gets bored and wants something to do. This little pack had crayons, stickers, and a little coloring book to keep her entertained. Perfect!

Wallet – I love this hot pink wallet from Kate Spade. It fits all of my cards and doesn’t take up much room.

Phone, Keys, Sunglasses – pretty self-explanatory there.

Makeup Bag – now for the good part. Haha. I keep this little rose gold colored pouch in my bag with a few makeup/beauty items in it.

-Travalo filled with Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
-Chanel gloss in Eden
-Dior Lipglow in Pink
-Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose
-NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel
-Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Pencil
-Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens
-NARS Light Reflecting Powder in Translucent Crystal
-I also keep a few hair ties in case Allison or I need to put our hair up.

So, that’s it for the diaper bag. It is a lot, but I like to be prepared. I hope this helps out other moms, or gals that are just curious! I know I always like to see what other people have in their bags.

Thanks for reading guys, have a great week! xx

IPSY Glambag July 2014

Hey everyone!! It’s that time of the month again, I’m going to show you what I got in my July Ipsy Glambag! I can’t believe it is already July…I was excited to see what kinds of summer products Ipsy would put in the bag this month, so lets get started!

For those of you who don’t know, Ipsy is a beauty sample subscription box where you pay $10 a month (you can cancel anytime) and they send you a grab bag full of goodies based on your profile every month. Most of the time they send full size products! The value of what is in the box is always over $10, and it’s a great way to try out new products!

20140718-120620.jpg
This month’s theme for the bag is Sensationally Sunkissed, and included 5 products, one of which is full size! All of the products came in this neon pink, faux leather bag which is pretty tacky in my opinion…Allison has already put some toys in there so she can just keep that one. Ok, onto the products.

20140718-120913.jpg

Befine Food Skin Care Daily Moisturizer SPF15 – 1.5oz Value $18
Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil SPF 8 – 1 oz Value $1.50

This moisturizer is free of parabens, fragrances, and allergens, and is made with rosemary, pomegranate and rice. It says it is for all skin types, so I will definitely try this out. I like that it contains SPF15 too. The tanning oil is in a really cute little bottle, and it will be nice to take with me to the lake or pool. It’s made with Argan oil, and it’s non-greasy and made with organic ingredients.

20140718-121732.jpg

Bare Minerals 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow in Divine Wine – 0.10ml Value $4
purminerals Big Look Waterproof Mascara – 0.12oz Value $14
Elizabeth Mott Tints&Sass Lip and Cheek Stain in Cherry – FULL SIZE Value $22.99

I LOVE cream eyeshadow, so I am excited to try this one from Bare Minerals. The color of it is a creamy taupe, so hopefully it will be a good neutral, everyday-type color. I really don’t like trying out new mascara, but this one from purminerals looks good. I really like the packaging, and it has a plastic bristle brush which I really like. The next product looks to be the exact same thing as my beloved Benefit Benetint. It is a lip and cheek stain that is even in the same pinky-red color.

So, I paid $10 for this bag, and I received $60.49 worth of products! Wow! Let me know if you would like an in-depth review on any of the products shown.

What did you get in your July bag?
