DIY Hair Mask for DRY Hair

I tend to have really dry hair in the wintertime, and I am always trying out deep conditioners and masks. My favorite way to condition my hair is using coconut oil. It’s cheap, and I always have some in my pantry. I mix a couple of other ingredients with it, apply it to my hair, and am left with super soft, shiny hair. Here’s what you need:

4 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp honey
1 egg

Heat up the coconut oil until it’s melted. After it has cooled, mix it with the other ingredients. Apply to damp or dry hair, wrap it up in a shower cap, and let it sit for as long as you want. You can also do this in the shower as a deep conditioning treatment, or leave it on overnight. The results are amazing. Your hair will be so soft and have a nice silky texture. The coconut oil and honey really moisturize the hair and leave it soft, while the egg adds lots of shine.

In addition to using this on your hair, try using coconut oil as a makeup remover or face/body moisturizer! It is all natural and good for your skin.

  1. Coconut oil is great to use in my hair. I have naturally curly hair and coconut oil almost always works to give it some shine and moisture. I haven’t tried it with honey yet though. 🙂

    1. It is great, I am glad you like it too! I think you will like it with honey, I was reading that honey really helps retain moisture in your hair, even after washing!
