Mixing Feminine and Sporty

I love taking a sporty and casual piece and pairing it with something really feminine.  These army green capris are so comfy and look great with just about anything!  I consider this green to be a neutral, so I mix any colors or prints with it.

I think this color green pairs really good with pink, so I put it with this really lightweight white blouse with ruffles and light pink bow detailing.

Floral shoes…need I say more?  I LOVE these shoes and think they look so good with this outfit.  For accessories, I’m using a light pink bag, gold jewelry, and gold aviators.

Top 5 PINK Blushes

Is there any other color of blush?  Pink blush is my go-to.  Pink anything is my go-to, actually.  Having fair skin, I find that pink on my cheeks gives me a fresh, feminine, and pretty look.

Here are my favorite pinks…and this was not easy to only pick five!

1. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface

Dollface is (was) my go-to blush (before I found Hervana).  It is a soft, matte, baby doll pink that gives such a natural flush to my fair skin.

2.  Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot

Apricot is a very vibrant pink.  A little bit goes a long way.  This blush has really great staying power and almost has a staining effect when applied (not good for swatching, lol).  This warm toned blush is matte, and gives a very youthful glow to the skin.

3.  NYX Blush in Peach

I don’t know why this is called Peach, cause it’s pretty pink to me.  NYX blush is my favorite drugstore blush because they are super pigmented and come in great colors.  Peach is a warm toned, matte pink that also gives a very natural finish.

4.  MAC Blush in Pink Swoon

Pink Swoon looks very bright in the pan, but it is a sheertone blush, so it is light at first, but buildable.  This is similar to Dollface, in that it is also matte and gives a very natural look.  It is a bright bubblegum pink that is very flattering on the cheeks.

5.  Benefit Boxed Blush in Hervana

I’ll admit it, I’ve only had this blush a few weeks, but it made it into my top 5.  In the pan, nothing special, but on the cheeks…magic.  The colors swirled together give this beautiful light pink glow.  This blush is not shimmery, but it does have a sheen when applied that makes you look so glowy.  It’s cool toned, and almost looks like it has a lilac color to it.  It’s beautiful.

Swatches:

Dollface, Apricot, Peach, Pink Swoon, Hervana

One Green Sundress – Two Looks

When I am looking for clothing, especially dresses, I try to look for pieces that are different from anything else in my closet.  This green printed dress is very different from anything else.  It’s leaf-like print and tiered pleats make it interesting.  I thought it would be super easy to take this one little dress from day to night.  Here’s what I came up with.

DAY LOOK

I paired the dress with some really comfortable brown strappy wedges.  I accessorized with a brown saddlebag, gold watch, and blue and gold beaded bracelets.  I would wear this anywhere.  The dress is not too short that it isn’t appropriate for daytime.  I wore my tortoise colored sunglasses because I feel like those are casual, and go with my brown accessories.

NIGHT LOOK

To transition this dress into a night-time look, I added a black motorcycle jacket and some black wedge heels.  For accessories, I added some big gold hoop earrings and  a metallic rose-gold colored clutch.  I left my gold watch and beaded bracelets on.  I think the jacket and heels really make the look more night-time appropriate and dressy.

EAT | Easy Breakfast Casserole Recipe

I don’t know about y’all, but I love breakfast, and I love to eat breakfast food any time of the day.  Today, I thought I would share a really good recipe with y’all – a quick and easy breakfast casserole using just a few ingredients.  Everyone I have made this for has absolutely loved it, even my two girls, 3 and 10 months.  I guarantee if you make this for your family, everyone will love it!

Here’s what you need.

Do you like my cupcake salt and pepper shakers?

  • 1 lb ground sausage (you can use any kind of ground sausage, and even small pieces of cooked bacon will work)
  • 1 roll of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (biscuit dough works too)
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Brown up your sausage in a skillet.  Drain on paper towels and set aside.

Unroll Crescent Rolls, and spread dough onto 9″11 baking dish.  Spread sausage and half of the shredded cheese over the top.

In a bowl, combine eggs, milk, oregano, salt, and pepper.  Stir until everything is combined, and then pour into baking dish.

Add remaining cheese over top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until edges of crescent rolls are brown and cheese is melted.

All finished!

The eggs don’t come out runny, and the sides and bottom are nice and crispy.

Hope you guys liked this recipe, and let me know if you try it out!

SEPHORA VIB Rouge Sale

Whenever Sephora has a sale, I have to partake. Lol.  Makeup doesn’t go on sale very often, so I took the opportunity to re-purchase some faves, and also picked up some new things that have been on my wishlist.

I repurchased my favorite Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser, because I love to use my Clarisonic, and this is a really good smelling cleanser that I use with it.  It really leaves my skin feeling clean and takes off all of my makeup.

Another repurchase was the NARS Creamy Concealer in the shade Chantilly.  This is the lightest shade it comes in, and I just love this concealer so much.  I use it for under my eyes and also on my face for any redness.  I set it with the NARS Light Reflecting Powder, and those two together are just PERFECTION. It lasts all day.

So the next thing is this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light.  After months of research, I decided this was the shade for me.  Seriously, they have so many shades to choose from, and each one has a different effect.  This is a “finishing” powder, so I will try it out and let you all know what I think.

Another face product I purchased is the Benefit Blush in Hervana.  I’ll admit it, I’ve never even given this blush a second look.  I’ve seen it in stores, but I never even swatched it cause it just didn’t interest me.  Well, after I read my friend Gillian’s pale girl blush post, I knew I needed this blush.  I am a fellow pale girl.  It doesn’t look special from the box, but swatched all together, it is this beautiful, baby doll pink.  I know I am going to love this.

The Sephora Cream Lip Stains.  Guys,  these are seriously amazing.  This shade, 01 Always Red, is their bestselling shade.  These are soft and last for hours.  I own them in quite a few colors, and for the price, you can’t beat them.

The last little things I picked up were two little sheet masks.  I believe these are fairly new, and they come in tons of different colors that all do something different for your skin.  I got an eye mask and a face mask.  The eye mask is the Lotus Eye Mask, supposed to be good for moisturizing and soothing.  The face mask is the Pearl Mask, for perfecting and brightening.  I’m excited to try these out.

Did you guys shop the sale?

Also, I’m interested…if you have tried the Ambient Lighting Powder, what shade did you get?
