Blog Secrets Revealed!

Ever wonder how I get that pretty cream colored background on my pictures?

Welp, that’s the side of my bathtub. Lol.

Truth is, my bathroom has great natural lighting!  Right above the tub, there is a big window.

Do you like this nice brick background?

Pretty, right? Nope, it’s not a porch.  It’s my bathroom floor. Yes.  Day after day, I’m crouched down taking pictures of the floor.  I’m so proud.

I’ve found that anyplace with natural lighting is the best for taking pictures.  My bathroom works great.  Or anyplace outside, of course.

I take all of my blog pictures during the day – I’ll make a list of posts I want to do and then grab all of the products and have a photo sesh.  I have to do this during my girls’ nap time.  It doesn’t take long!

I don’t use a fancy camera – I just use my iPhone.  I’m not really into photography, and my phone works just fine for me.  Sometimes I use filters and different apps to add text and details.

Since my posts go up at 7 a.m., do I get up early to write them?

 HAHA. No.

I write my posts  waaaay ahead of time.  Sometimes like a month ahead.  After my girls go to bed in the evenings, I do them.  While others spend their nights watching TV, I am furiously typing away on my blog.  I already have the pictures, so I write them and schedule them for upload – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:00 am.  I try to do 3 posts a week.

So that OOTD post?  Yeah…I probably wore that 2 weeks ago. Haha.

So, those are my blog secrets!  Now you know a little bit more about how I keep up with my blog. 🙂

Thanks for reading, xo Amy

  1. Great tips – really nice bathroom too!! I too schedule my posts ahead of time, usually by a week. I take all photos at one go in my brightest room – living room (on the unit or the floor! ) then do my writing and schedule 🙂

    1. Thank you! Yes, it’s so much easier to do the posts ahead of time. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
