Quick Review:  Fake Bake Flawless Self Tanner

To avoid looking ghostly in the spring and summer, I like to use a self-tanner.  I have pale, cool toned skin (think NW15 in MAC), and I like the way a nice bronzed tan looks.

I’m not about to lay out in the sun, so self-tanner is what I like to use.  I have tried a bunch of self-tanning products- from mousse, to lotion, and this – a spray liquid called Fake Bake Flawless.  

  
I purchased this self-tanner from Amazon for around $12 for 6 fl oz.  This is the top rated self-tanner on Amazon, which swayed me.  Also, $12 is a great price compared to say St. Tropez or Vita Liberata which are pretty spendy (but are good).  

So, in the box you get your bottle of magic potion, a mitt, and some plastic gloves.  I love that it comes with a mitt, because you usually have to buy those separate at ULTA or Sephora.

On the bottle it says “streak free” and “easy application” which are my two worries with self tanner, so I was glad to see that.  I put on the mitt, sprayed some on my leg, got it all over the bathroom floor, so cleaned that up and started over.  I sprayed it directly on the mitt and all was good (no brown floor).  I began to work it onto my legs in circular motions and it does spray on dark brown so you can see where you’re going with it. It was very easy to blend.

You want to leave it on for about 4 hrs before washing it off so that the color develops. Also, make sure you exfoliate your body really good with a scrub before applying this. 

This tanner really lasts a good week for me, and doesn’t wear off patchy or anything.  It doesn’t look orange AT ALL, which is a major plus.  I really like this, I think it’s a great product, and the bottle will last a long time.
