Applying products to my skin (as opposed to eyes) is my favorite part of wearing makeup. I especially like to use products that make my skin look fresh and glowy.
I don’t have much time in the morning to get ready for the day, but I always like to make sure that my face looks on point (who cares about the hair). I’ve been using a combination of these products recently, and I love the look that it gives. This CC cream looks like skin when applied (no cake face here) and the other products work together to give a nice fresh look.
I start by spraying my face all over with MAC Fix Plus instead of applying my normal morning moisturizer. This spray is so refreshing, smells good, and preps your skin for makeup.
I then take this Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl and apply one pump to my skin. This is kind of like a lotion that adds a subtle shine to my face (in a good way). This instantly makes my skin glow without adding shimmer or glitter. This will show through my foundation and make it extra luminous!
The next thing I do is apply (with fingers is best) my It Cosmetics CC cream. This is a full coverage CC cream with SPF 50. This is a physical sunscreen, which sold me on this product (you’ve heard me rave about it before, I’m sure). I find that I don’t need a moisturizer when I use this, it has a lot of good-for-your-skin ingredients in it that moisturize.
After I pat this into my skin, I don’t set it with powder, and I move on to bronzer. I have been loving this Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched. This is a verrry light bronzer that would probably be a highlight on most people, but with my fair skin it works as a bronzer. I apply this to the places on my face that the sun would naturally hit, or in a “3” motion – starting at my temples, into my cheekbones, and under my jawline. This warms up my complexion and and makes my skin not look so flat. This doesn’t have shimmer or glitter, but gives a glowy-satin finish.
I gotta have a pink blush in the summertime, so I have been using my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush – again – no shimmer, just glowy-ness! I apply this to my cheeks and take it back towards my hairline…I have to stay away from putting blush on the apples of my cheeks, because I find that it makes my face look rounder when I do that.
Ok, last step (you can skip this one if it’s too much highlight) I apply my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal to the very high tops of my cheekbones and in the inner corner of each eye. I actually use my finger to do this because this is VERY pigmented and I have more control with just my fingertip.
I love the look that all of these products give when used all together.
Thanks for reading! xo, Amy
Gahhhh, Becca. I die. Is that the powder or poured? I’m so tempted by the poured/cream version but worried about expiration :/…..
Also, do you experience any “melting” with the CC Cream? I’m good if I’ll be inside all day, but if I’m outside for 5 minutes my face is GONE. HALLLLLLP.
It’s the powder, I didn’t know there was a cream version!!! No, I haven’t noticed any melting but I have pretty dry skin.
I really want to try the It cosmetics CC cream!
I’m sure you will love it! It is the perfect lightweight foundation! 🙂
