Brows are important, they frame your face and make your whole makeup look come together. I like to do my brows to where they look natural, and it only requires a little bit of work to get them the way I want.
I use the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Brunette/Dark Brown. I believe this is the old, silver packaging – it’s now in black packaging, but is still the same product.
I bought this powder in (gasp) 2012. It is three years old. Probably time to get a new one? Let me tell you, I have used this probably every single day (I’ve worn makeup) for the last three years. You barely dip your brush in this powder. It is so pigmented that you only need a teeeeeny amount. I like to use the Real Techniques Brow Brush and mix the two colors together, just tap some of each on the brush. I apply it to my brows at the arch first, going towards the tail, and then I fill in the beginning part. I find this gives a more natural (less sharpie) look.
Now, if you’re a beginner, this is perfect for you. The angled brush really gives you control and this powder is super easy to use. It comes in a bunch of shades, but I like to do my brows a shade (or 2) lighter than my hair color, that’s why I typically use more of the lighter, more taupe color.
Also, if you have a brown eyeshadow that is a shade or two lighter than your hair, give that a go and see how you like it! MAC Espresso shade and also the shade Embark work for my brows. I always look for a brow color when buying my eyeshadow palettes to see if there is one that will work.
Sometimes if I am having a special day or going somewhere where I really want my makeup to look good, I’ll apply some of this Anastasia Clear Brow Gel overtop of the powder. This is like hairspray for your brows and will keep them in place and looking (on fleek) all day long.
