I’ll admit it – I usually skip the Clinique makeup section. I like Clinique’s skincare products, but I never really gave the makeup a chance. Recently though, it seems like Clinique is trying to appeal to a younger crowd with their Chubby Stick Lip Crayons, and now their Cheek Pop Blush. Well Clinique, your marketing ploy of bright colors and cute packaging worked. Except, it’s not a ploy this time.
I’ve seen pictures of these Cheek Pops in magazines and online, so I decided to check them out at Sephora. They are so cute, you guys. The packaging is really sturdy and compact, and you get a lot of product for the price. And the daisy design – I couldn’t bring myself to even swatch this baby for weeks because I didn’t want to mess up its’ perfect embossing.
But, I did. I did it for you.
So after looking through all of the colors, I decided on Rosy Pop, which is a very natural, medium pink. This color leans a little bit cool toned, and has a slight gold sheen to it. The texture is so smooth and very pigmented – but not so pigmented that you have to be careful with your brush. Another thing I love about it is that it isn’t powdery at all. You swirl your brush in and there is no powder left over that makes a mess.
This color gives a very natural flush to the cheeks and applies evenly. I was also very surprised at the wear time of this blush. The first time I wore it I wanted to test it out, so I applied it around 8:30 a.m. I went about my day (even went swimming in 100 degree heat – but didn’t go underwater) and when I went to take my makeup off around 5, it was still going strong! I was amazed when I looked in the mirror and saw that the color was just as vibrant as when I first applied it.
I LOVE this blush. I love everything about it. I can’t wait to pick up more colors. This blush really reminds me of the Tarte blushes, but I think I like these even more.
Have you tried these out?
