Hi everyone! Today I bring you a review on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in the color Veronica. These lipsticks are supposed to be full coverage, matte, and extremely long wearing.
These lipsticks are exclusive to Macy’s, but you can also purchase them on The Anastasia Beverly Hills website. They retail for $20. I picked mine up in the shade Veronica, which is a new color for the fall 2015 collection. This color is a dirty mauve color, and definitely has some taupe-y gray to it. I thought this color was absolutely beautiful and great for fall. The color reminds me of Kat Von D’s Lolita, except darker and more brown. I noticed that almost all of the colors are bold. There are maybe one or two nudes, but the rest are very bold colors.
The packaging is really nice and pretty, with a standard doe-foot applicator. When they say full coverage, they mean it. These are extremely opaque. Before using this, I would recommend exfoliating your lips really well to get all of the flakiness off. Since this is a liquid (and matte) it will seep into any lines and cling to dry patches (not a good look). You have only a little bit of time to work with this before it dries, so work quickly!
This goes on super smooth, and after it dries, it will not come off. You’re going to need makeup remover at the end of the day to take this off – so if you don’t like having to touch up your lipcolor throughout the day, I’d say try this!
Once it does start to wear off, it doesn’t wear off patchy or anything – it just starts to look lighter. I don’t get any rings around my lips or anything.
This color looks kind of grunge-y on me and I feel like it’s a good 90’s lip color. A my-lips-but-browner color!
I really like this lipstick, but like any matte lippie, it is a little bit drying. I use a bit of gloss over the top throughout the day if I feel like it is looking extra dry (which takes away the matte effect, but still makes it look pretty).
Have you tried these?
Love this 90s shade! And love your photo with the flowers 🙂
