Brand Focus: NYX

It’s time for another Brand Focus,  and this time the spotlight is on NYX.  This is an affordable drugstore brand that can be purchased at select drugstores, online, and at ULTA.

I love NYX for their lip products, eye pencils, eyeshadows, and blush.  There is a lot that I have not tried yet from the brand, but I have found a lot of good things so far.

Let’s start off with the lippies – glosses in particular.  The Butter Glosses and the Megashine glosses are some of (if not the) best drugstore glosses out there.  Creamy, not sticky, smell amazing, cheap, and they have a ton of colors to choose from.  What more could you want in a gloss?  My favorites include Strawberry Parfait and Tea Rose.

Also, the lip pencils…AMAZE.  Forget your expensive MAC pencils – NYX’s formula is dare I say? BETTER.  Tons of colors.  Dupes for MAC pencils. My favorites are Peekaboo Neutral and Mauve. Try ’em.

Let’s move on to blush.  The packaging is nothing special, but I actually like that- I don’t need a mirror or a brush with it – just give me the blush!  NYX blushes are super pigmented and last all day.  My favorites are Taupe (used for contouring) and Mocha for an everyday cheek color.

Ah, yes.  The Wonder Pencil.  This pencil is so cool!  It comes in a couple of different skintone shades (I have light), and it’s a concealer pencil, lip liner, and eyeliner all in one!  You can use it to spot conceal blemishes on your face, use it as a lipliner, or use it to line your waterline for some brightness to your eyes.  Love this product – it’s great to keep in your purse.

Now, onto eye products.  NYX is probably known best for their Jumbo Eye Pencils, which are cream shadow sticks that can be used as eyeshadow or eyeliner.  These are great, they come in lots of shades and work as an eyeshadow base that stays put.  Also, their eyeshadows – again – lots of dupes for MAC colors and rival in formula.  Super soft and always pigmented.

Do you like NYX?

    1. They do have a great shade range. That stinks that they aren’t easily available though – you could always order online!
