Shadow Sticks That Stay Put

Shadow sticks are quick and easy to use, and they can also provide a nice base for powder shadows.  Sometimes it can be difficult to find one that doesn’t crease or get patchy during the day. When I look for a cream shadow, I want one that easily blends, and lasts all day without creasing.

Shadow sticks are just a cream eyeshadow in a stick form. This makes it simple to apply to your eye area, smudge, and go.

Rimmel and NYX have some really great colors, and they are both creamy and blendable.  Rimmel’s Scandaleyes in Bad Girl Bronze is just that – a nice shimmery metallic bronze.  This looks great as an “all over the lid color”, but also smudged on the lashlines.  This is a great neutral color for everyday.  The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt is a nice champagne/pinky-peach color that is beautiful used all over the lids and especially in the inner corners of the eyes.

Bobbi Brown and Stila also make really nice shadow sticks.  Stila’s eyeshadow in Kitten is a cult-favorite, known to be the perfect champagne shimmery color that is just beautiful when applied.  This shadow stick is the same thing, but in cream form.  I think I like it better in the stick version though, because it is even more shimmery and vibrant.  Bobbi Brown’s shadow sticks last so long on me, and I think that they are as good as the Maybelline Color Tattoos (which are my all-time favorite).  This color in Sunlit Gold is a bright shiny gold that also looks great in the inner corner of the eyes, but I really like it below the lower lashline.  It is so great for a summer glowy gold makeup look.

Do you use cream eyeshadow sticks?
