5 Steps To Great Hair

I don’t consider my myself a pro at doing hair by any means, but I do know what works for me.  I get a lot of compliments and questions about my hair – asking how I style and keep my hair looking healthy.  I usually just do the same thing when it comes to my hair care routine, so I thought I would share it with you all!  I have 5 steps here, and if you follow these steps, you’ll be on your way to having great hair!

1.  Use a clarifying shampoo once a week.

Everything you put into your hair causes buildup -shampoo, conditioner, styling products, and they can weigh your hair down after awhile.  I like to get rid of buildup once a week by using a clarifying shampoo (shown here are BIG shampoo by LUSH and Pure Clean shampoo by Garnier.)  These do a great job of getting rid of buildup, leaving you with fresh, clean, and volumized hair.  Gotta get that junk outta there!

2.  Use a deep conditioner/hair mask once a week.

I do this right after I do the clarifying shampoo, once a week.  Using a deep conditioner will repair your hair’s ends, and make your hair soft and shiny again.  I usually like to leave my deep conditioner/mask in while I shave my legs and really try to keep it in as long as I can.  You can even do it on dry hair and put it up in a towel while you’re hanging around the house.  Doing this once a week really helps with split ends.  (Shown here are Macadamia Deep Repair Masque and Neutrogena Triple Moisture deep conditioner).

3. Use a styling product/heat protectant before styling hair

Always use something before blow drying/curling/straightening.  I like to use products that already have a heat protectant in them.  Protecting your hair from heat is so important to having healthy hair.  Also, using a styling product before blowdrying will help your style to last. (Shown here: Bb Repair Blow Dry, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, Agave Oil Treatment, It’s a 10 Miracle Leave in Product, and Pureology Colour Fanatic w 21 Benefits).

4.  Set Hair With Hairspray

You don’t want to have to go to all of this trouble again tomorrow, do you?  Spray your hair down till it doesn’t move, I say!  Hairspray will lock your style into place for a couple of days, making it so easy to not have to wash and style your hair the next day.  I can’t tell you how many times I have been complimented on 3rd, yes 3rd day curls.  Shown here:  Loreal Elnett, Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play, and Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press). Which brings me to my next step.

5. USE DRY SHAMPOO.  Don’t wash your hair everyday.

This is the most important one.  Heat styling your hair every day?   Don’t do it, girl.  Save your hair and use some dry shampoo instead!  Dry shampoo will soak up the oil, while giving volume and a fresh scent. (Shown here: Garnier Volume Extend Dry Shampoo, Bb Pret a Powder, Klorane Dry Shampoo, and DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo).

Hope these tips were helpful!  Thanks for reading 🙂
