So, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, which is a verrrry popular eyebrow pencil that people (including myself) swear by. Anastasia is the queen of brows, and every other pencil I’ve tried just doesn’t measure up. Nothing from the drugstore even comes close. UNTIL NOW.
What makes the Brow Wiz so amazing is the super fine (0.5 mm) tip and the waxy consistency of the pencil. This waxy consistency helps the product to adhere (and stay) on the brows, unlike an eyeliner consistency like most other brow pencils have. This pencil is not very pigmented when applied, and that’s why I like it. When doing natural looking eyebrows, you want to do short strokes to make the lines look more like hair, and when it’s too pigmented, well…you just end up with drawn on sharpie brows. Not a good look. You want to be able to build up your brows and be in control of how bold you want them.
Another great thing about this pencil is that it has a little spoolie brush on the end, that way you can comb through the brows and make them look natural by spreading the product around.
So, the Brow Wiz retails for $21, and comes in 9 shades. You will definitely find the right shade for you. I wear the color Dark Brown. To me, nothing comes close to this pencil…it’s pretty perfect.
I was recently at the drugstore, and I saw something that caught my eye. The Loreal Brow Stylist Definer Pencil. This is the exact same thing as the Brow Wiz. The packaging is the same (pencil on one end, spoolie on the other) and the consistency (same waxy texture), wearability (stays all day), and color of this product is the same as the Brow Wiz. Even the tip is the same size! This product comes in only three shades, Blonde, Brunette, and Dark Brunette. I bought Brunette and it matches the Brow Wiz I have exactly. This pencil retails for about $8, depending on which drugstore you go to.
I think these products are EXACT dupes, and I can’t believe how they are so similar! I will definitely be purchasing the Loreal pencil from now on to save some money. It’s about time the drugstore put out a great eyebrow pencil!
Have you tried either of these?
