Play! By Sephora | March 2016

Hello!  Today I have my March Play By Sephora unboxing for you!  I really look forward to getting this box every month, and I am always impressed with what they send out.

This box is $10 a month, and they will send you around 6 deluxe size samples from prestige brands. You don’t take a quiz or anything, and you can’t select what products to receive. There is currently a wait list for this box, so sign up here to get on the list ASAP!

You’ll get the same lipstick printed box each time, and inside is a neat little book that tells you all about the products. It also gives tips and tricks for using each thing, which I love!  Let’s get in to March’s box!

Sephora Collection The Perfectionist : Airbrush Sponge – this is a double ended blending sponge that allows you to get into curves and contours on the face for a more even application.  Basically, it’s like the Beauty Blender, you soak it under water, give it a good squeeze, and stipple it (beat it) on your face till it’s all blended.  So obviously, this is a full size product, and it retails for $12.  I am really curious to try this out.  I love to try out new beauty tools, and I love sponges, so I’m sure I’ll like this!  It feels a little harder than the BB does, but if it doesn’t work for foundation, it will probably work for concealer!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper – this is one of the best liquid liners out there.  It’s got a super fine brush tip, it is jet black, matte, and stays put.  I’m really glad I got this.  It’s always nice to have backups of products you love.  This liner is almost the size of my full size, too!

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – this is a multitasking sunscreen, moisturizer, and primer that is supposed to visibly blur imperfections.  This product sounds awesome, and I really like Murad skincare.  I’m excited to try this.  This is a really good size bottle too, considering you will only need just a tiny bit.

Maison Martin Margiela ‘Replica’ Beachwalk Fragrance – this is a very beachy scent.  It incorporates bergamot, coconut milk, and lemon.  Something about it smells just like the ocean to me.  If you have ever smelled Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray for your hair, it smells EXACTLY like that.  I love this scent.  I am a floral scent type of gal, but I will use this because it smells so good.

Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer Oil – I absolutely love Smashbox’s PhotoFinish Primer Water, and use it everyday, so I was excited to see this in here.  It’s supposed to absorb quickly with just a tiny bit and add some radiance to the skin.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser – this is a gel cleanser with soy proteins, rose water and cucumber extract.  It’s supposed to be great and soothing for sensitive skin.  I have tried this before, and it is the only Fresh product I don’t like.  I love their masks, their scrubs, their lip treatments… but I do not like this cleanser, and everyone else that I know loves it!  I am not usually sensitive to smells, but this smells so bad to me.  It smells like cucumbers (which I do not like) but it’s like cucumbers mixed with nature.  Haha I don’t know but I don’t like it.  Really bad.  It also didn’t do much in the way of a cleanser, so I’ll just pass this along!  It is a really good size.

They also sent a little empty plastic sample jar.  It says in the booklet to bring it into store and they will color match me using their Color IQ, to show me what my best shades are for foundation and concealer, and give me a sample of my choosing.  Pretty cool!

Love this month’s box!

Are you subscribed yet?  Whatcha waiting for?

xx amy

  1. I really wish they had this in Canada! So much better than Ipsy or any of the monthly boxes for that matter!

    1. Yeah! They really should make it available everywhere so that everyone could try it! Maybe soon they will 🙂 thanks for stopping by!
