EAT | Crockpot Root Beer Pulled Pork

Cooking with the crockpot is my favorite!  Today I am sharing another slow cookin’ recipe that requires hardly any work at all.  This is juicy delicious pulled pork marinated in a root beer barbecue sauce.  Let’s get started!

What you need:

  • 3-5 lb pork shoulder
  • 1 can of root beer
  • 1 packet of onion soup mix
  • 1 small bottle sweet barbecue sauce
  • salt/pepper to taste

Mix together your root beer and half of your barbecue sauce in a small bowl.

Trim any fat from the pork, and rub the dry onion soup mix all over the pork.  Place it into the crockpot.

Pour the root beer/barbecue sauce mixture over the top.

Close the lid and cook on low for 8-10 hours.

Remove pork, use fork to shred meat.

Pour out all of the juice from the crockpot except for one cup.  Mix that with the remaining barbecue sauce.  Place meat and sauce mixture into crockpot and cook on high for an additional 20 minutes.

When you take the meat out, it will be so tender and juicy.  I like to make pulled pork sandwiches using Hawaiian rolls from the grocery store.  I add a little bit of salt and pepper, and there you go.  The perfect pork sandwich.

My husband says he can really taste the root beer in this, and it just gives it such a good flavor.  My whole family loves it, and I hope you will too!

Thanks for reading!
