A Gorgeous Pink Highlight

Becca released a new “limited edition” highlight called Rose Quartz as part of their Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder line.  In its shiny pink packaging and gorgeous pink tone, I could not pass this one up.

I already own Opal and Moonstone in the pressed powders, which are more champagne/gold in color, so this one is totally different from the others.  This is a light pearly pink color that -just like the others- is chock full of shimmery goodness.

Even though this is a pink highlighting powder, it comes off fairly neutral and silvery.  It doesn’t have any glitter, just a fine sheen.  This formula is so pigmented and soft, and can be built up depending on how bold you want your highlight to be.

To apply this highlight, I like to use a fluffy blending eye brush, such as the Sigma E40.  A smaller brush like this helps me to place the highlight exactly where I want it and blend it out, rather using a bigger “highlighting” brush.  I also sometimes just use my finger!  I like to place this highlight right on the tops of my cheekbones, and then a little bit on the tip of my nose.  It also looks really pretty on the inner corners of my eyes and helps to brighten up the look.

This powder gives the most beautiful glow and pretty look.  In addition to it being gorgeous on pale skin, I also think it would look so pretty on tan or darker skin tones, and would give a more silver sheen.

Rose Quartz is sold exclusively at Sephora, and is $38.

My Favorite Little Crossbody Bag

The bag so nice, I bought it twice!  I am talking about this adorable little crossbody bag that I cannot stop using.  I got this bag from Nordstrom, and it’s the BP Double Stud Crossbody Bag.  The best part about it?  It’s $32!

I was looking to buy another Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag ( I already have three- leopard, hot pink, and rose gold), but I wanted one in a neutral color.  I was at Nordstrom, and I came across this bag, that is very similar.  When I picked it up, I noticed that this bag was a lot lighter in weight than the Mini MAC’s.  The Mini MAC straps are soo heavy.  So immediately, I liked it.  Like the Mini MAC’s, it has a strap with leather-like material, and gold colored chain.  I also love that the strap itself is adjustable, so you can make it as short or as long as you like.

On the inside of the bag, it has one zip pocket and two little open pockets for phone or keys.  Again, very similar to the Mini MAC.  I also really like the outside zip pocket on the front of the bag.  I have been using this bag for about 6 months now and I find myself always reaching for it!  I just love the size of it, and it’s so comfortable to wear.

I recently picked it up in the Cognac color, and I am loving this one as well!  I can fit everything I need in this bag, and it is so easy to use.  I carry this with me everywhere; it’s perfect for just day to day errands and quick trips places.  Surprisingly, it fits quite a bit, and it goes with any outfit!  You can wear it dressy or casual.

EAT | Chocolate Chip m&m Cookies

Hey everyone!  Today, I am sharing my favorite way to make chocolate chip cookies.  I originally got this recipe from my friend Sunnie, and I added my own spin on it to create these.  The reason I think these cookies are so good is because they don’t get flat when you bake them, and they also have M&M’s in them.  They’re amazing!  Let’s get started.

What you need:

  • 2 sticks (one cup) butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup M&M’s
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Combine butter, sugar, and brown sugar together until smooth.

Add eggs and vanilla and blend until smooth.

Next, I like to mix together my dry ingredients in a separate bowl.  Combine flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.

Add to mixing bowl and mix together until soft dough forms.

Add your M&M’s and chocolate chunks and stir together with a spoon.

Place dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.  This will harden the dough up a bit and make it easier to roll into balls.

After 30 minutes, remove dough and roll into 1 inch balls.  Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.  I do a dozen per sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the tops of the cookies turn slightly brown.

Pour yourself a glass of milk and enjoy!!!

*This recipe makes about 5 dozen cookies.  I usually roll out all of the cookies, and then place half of the dough balls in a freezer bag and put them in the freezer to save for another day.  That way, I can have freshly baked cookies anytime!

Fall Fashion Trends

It’s almost fall, and I am loving the trends!  It seems like a lot of things from the 90’s are making their comebacks, and I have been loving putting together outfits.

Let’s start off with jewelry. There are a lot of jewelry trends for the fall, and the first one I love is chokers. My 17 year old self is loving these!  This black one is basically like a long shoelace, you can tie it up in a bow like I did, or just leave it hanging like a lariat.  So cute.  This other one is gold with little beads.  So elegant and simple.  Chokers are so flattering and cute on everyone!  Get them here and here.

Another cute trend I am seeing everywhere are Ear Crawlers. These look so interesting and dress up any outfit.  Since they are studs, they are so easy and comfortable to wear, but they add a little something extra.  Similar ones here.

Show off those shoulders with shirts with cut-out shoulders.  So cute and dress up a plain old t-shirt.  Similar here

4. LEATHER (PLEATHER) JACKETSThis one has a little peplum (!!!)

I like to roll up the sleeves on this one.  These jackets go with ANYTHING- from a dress, to jeans, to leggings. Similar styles here.

I had this same exact skirt in high school!  This skirt is so versatile and can work for any season, add a tank and sandals for summer, or tights and boots for winter.

Love these with a tied up tee and some wedge booties!  Get it here.

I LOVE a flared jean.  YES.  So flattering and cute on all sizes.  Get them here.

These are back again this season,  and they dress up any outfit while being super comfy! Similar here.

Empties | Makeup, Haircare, Skincare

Ive used up a bunch of products, and I’m ready to share my thoughts on them!

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo – this is a great dry shampoo.  The bottle has lasted forever, and it really makes my hair feel nice and clean. It doesn’t leave any residue, and absorbs all of the oil.  The only thing I don’t like is the very strong baby powder/perfume scent, BUT I am willing to overlook that because it works so well.  I talked about this product more here, and I would repurchase this.

Pureology Multitasking Hair Beautifier With 21 Benefits – I have talked about this product before here in a Products I Regret Buying post, and I am so glad I used this up.  It did nothing for my hair at all; it didn’t even make it softer, and it was pretty expensive.  I’ll stick with my It’s A Ten + Keratin

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo – I also mentioned this product in my Top 5 Dry Shampoos post, and I love everything about this dry shampoo.  I have already repurchased it in the full size, and I love how fresh and clean it smells, and how it makes my hair feel nice and volumized when I use it.

Skin and Nails

Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser – I got this in a set with some Beauty Elixir (BAE), and I didn’t really care for this at all.  It dried out my skin, and felt like it left a film.  I wouldn’t repurchase this.

Origins Ginzing Eye Cream – this eye cream is really nice and hydrating.  It is brightening, so it’s nice to use in the morning before concealer.  I would repurchase this.

Essie Boom Boom Room – this is  gorgeous light bright creamy pink color.  I used this on my toes nonstop this summer and it’s all dried up.  I would definitely repurchase this color!

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat – this top coat dries your nail color completely in about 5 minutes, adds a nice shine and helps my polish to last.  Love this stuff!  I already repurchased.

Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector –  this is a really nice lightweight tinted moisturizer/foundation.  It gives light coverage and is just perfect for summer.  I have a full review here.  I would repurchase for sure!

Diorskin Star Foundation – I liked this foundation, but I don’t feel like it was anything really special.  It lasted good on my skin and gave a nice finish, but for the price, I won’t be repurchasing.

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Brunette – it was finally time to say goodbye.  This is soo old, I think 5 years!  Haha.  This brow powder is perfect and all I have used for years.  It’s soft, blendable, matches perfectly, and looks super natural.  I will definitely repurchase!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – this is absolutely one of my favorite mascaras of all time.  Lengthens, volumizes, and holds my curl all day.  I will repurchase.

NARS Larger Than Life Eye Pencil in Via Veneto – this is a great eyeliner, very black, and glides on smoothly.  It lasts in my waterline all day, and I will repurchase.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Liner in Bourbon – this is a brown eyeliner with shimmer, my favorite color of the 24/7 eyeliners.  These eyeliners are the best out there and I have a ton of different colors.  I use this color when I don’t want to use black, and just want a softer look.  I’ve already repurchased.

Marc Jacobs Lip Liner in Honey – this was a really nice and creamy lipliner that was a nude color.  I have a lot of lipliners and even though this was good, I probably won’t repurchase because of the price.  It was good, but comparable to NYX.

Benefit Gimme Brow – I love this tinted brow gel.  When I don’t have time to do my brows, I run this through them, and it defines them and keeps them in place all day.  I do like this, but Essence makes one that is very cheap ($3) and does the same thing!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel – this was a mini-size that I got for free.  It was a good gel but Maybelline Clear Mascara does the exact same thing for a fraction of the price.  It was a good product though- kept my brows in place all day.  I probably won’t repurchase though.

That’s it for my trash!
