Hey everyone! Today I have some current favorites to share with you, and one thing that turned out to be a total fail.
Let’s start off with the good stuff.
I got a sample of the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation, which I have been wanting to try out FOREVER. I’ve been using this little sample for about a week and a half now, and I love it. This shade, Marble, is a tad bit too yellow for me, so I ordered one a little bit cooler toned, Ivory. This foundation is very lightweight and I love the skin-like finish it gives.
Next up is this Covergirl TruBlend Blush in the color Medium Rose. This is a really nice blush, especially for the drugstore. The color reminds me a lot of MAC’s Margin blush – a rosy pink with a nice sheen (no glitter). This blush is so pigmented and really blendable! I’ve been wearing it almost everyday.
While we are talking cheeks, this Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronze is freakin’ amazing! Now aside from the packaging and the smell (ohhh the smell) of coconutty-goodness, this is actually a really nice bronzer. It is so soft and pigmented, glides on the skin, and doesn’t come off orange or patchy. Just adds some color to my face. Looks really natural and sun-kissed.
Lastly for makeup, I have this Tarte Maneater Mascara. My friend Korrie was raving about this little gem, and I just HAD to try it out for myself. It is currently only available on QVC (it hasn’t hit stores yet), and I have been loving it! It has a huge rubber wand with little nubs (similar to Maybelline Rocket), and it really lengthens and volumizes my lashes. I also love that this mascara isn’t hard to remove, but stays on all day and doesn’t flake.
The last beauty product that I’ve been loving is the Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry. This is a cream that I put in my hair when it is damp before blow drying. This product is a heat protectant, and it makes my hair so silky and soft. I usually use this when I am going to be blowdrying my hair straight. I love everything from this brand.
I have a few jewelry favorites, because the jewelry trends coming out lately are just so adorable! First is this Bow Choker Necklace that is basically just a long string that you wrap around and tie into a bow. You can also just leave it hanging and it looks good too. I think the look of it wrapped around is just so cute for fall! And who doesn’t love a choker?
Another jewelry trend I’ve been loving are ear crawlers. I love simple stud earrings, but these just add a little bit extra, and they go with everything! They remind me of little gold icicles. Similar ones here.
Ok, this last thing is a fail. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water with the blue cap stinks. This is the version that is for WATERPROOF mascara. I have raved about how much I love the one with the pink cap, so why the heck did I think I should try out this one? I don’t wear waterproof mascara, but I thought that it would just remove it easier than the one with the pink cap. Well, it does…but it leaves my face an oily mess. This version is a LOT oiler than the pink cap one and leaves a thick film of oil on my face, even after I wash it with another cleanser! I also think it has been making me breakout because it’s so oily. This really didn’t work out for me. I think I’ll stick to the original version from now on. It doesn’t leave a weird residue on my face.
