Out of all of the makeup brushes out there and all that I have in my collection, I only use a few. I’ve narrowed it down to my 10 most used brushes, and honestly, these are all I need for a full face.
I have 6 brushes for face, and 4 for eyes.
FACE :
First of course, is my Bare Minerals Precision Face Brush. This brush is perfect for applying powder foundation. I really like how densely packed the bristles are, and the angle shape is just perfect for getting all over the face.
To apply liquid foundation, I love to use the ELF Small Stipple Brush. I actually use this also for any liquid or creams (bronzer, blush, highlight). The small size of it and the duo fiber material help any product to blend out so nicely. It’s also really soft and good quality.
To set my foundation and under eyes, I don’t like to apply a ton of powder, and I love to use the Real Techniques Setting Brush. I use this not only under my eyes, but to brush on just a tiny bit of powder on my t-zone.
For bronzer, I use the Real Techniques Blush Brush. I don’t like this brush for BLUSH, I think it’s too big. This brush is the perfect size to blend out bronzer all over the face. I like how soft it is and also the dome shape.
For blush, I love an angled brush to help me get right on the apples of my cheeks and back. This Morphe M435 brush is perfect!
For highlighting, I like to use a very small brush. I find that a fan brush or traditional highlighting brushes are just too big! The Sigma E40 is perfect. This brush is a blending brush meant for eyes, but I think it’s just way too big for that. It helps me get the highlight right on the tops of my cheekbones. Love it!
EYES:
I only need a few eye brushes for day to day looks. I can’t live without the Sigma E25 brush, and I haven’t been able to find anything that compares to it. I always put my eye shadow down with this. It is just the perfect shape and perfect size.
To blend my eyeshadow, I use the Sigma E35. Smaller than the E40, it is a tapered blender that I use to blend out everything.
To add color to the bottom lashline, I love this Sephora PRO Smoky Liner brush. I use this to smudge out the lower lashline if I’m creating something smoky or trying to define my eyes.
Can’t forget the brows! I usually use powder to fill them in, so I love this Chanel #12 Brow Brush. Honestly, any small angled brush would work, but I like how dense this brush is, and it applies the color nicely.
