Today I have more craft ideas for you to do with your kids! These crafts are all MINION themed. My girls absolutely love the minions and the new movie that just came out – so they really had fun making these. Let’s get started! Bee doh Bee doh!
1. Minion Clothespins
These are just clothespins painted to look like minions. You can use these to hang artwork or for any kind of decoration. My girls also like to have puppet shows with these!
What you need:
- Clothespins
- Blue and yellow paint (or any colors you want)
- Paintbrushes
- Black sharpie
- Chalk marker
First, paint the clothespins.
The regular colors for minions are of course, blue and yellow…but my girls had to make some girl minions too.
After they’re dry, draw on the eyes with the chalk marker. You can also use googly eyes or tiny white cut out circles for this.
After that dries, draw another circle in the middle with your sharpie. Add your hair and smile, and there you go! Little Minions.
This next craft is just popsicle sticks glued together and then decorated like a little minion face!
Here’s what you need:
- Popsicle sticks (9 per minion)
- Yellow paint
- Paintbrush
- Glue
- Scissors
- White and Black paper
The first thing you’re going to do is line up seven popsicle sticks.
Glue the remaining two popsicle sticks on, this will hold them all together.
After that dries, flip it over and paint it yellow.
When that is dry, glue on a strip of black paper.
Using a circle cookie cutter (or any other circle shaped item you have) trace two circles – one black and one white for the eye. Glue those on.
Next, cut out a mouth and hair with black paper and glue those on.
3. Minion Pencil Holder
This craft is just a toilet paper roll decorated like a minion. Allie thought it would make a cute pencil holder.
What you’ll need:
- Empty toilet paper rolls
- Yellow, blue, white, and black paper
- Glue and tape
- Scissors
- Pencil and blue marker
- Tape measure or ruler
The first thing is to cut out a yellow piece of paper in a 4 x 5 1/2 inch shape.
This should fit perfectly around your roll. Secure with glue or tape.
Next, we are going to cut out the shape for the overalls. This is kind of the shape of a big capital letter I. Just make sure lengthwise the straps are 5 1/2 so they fit all the way around the tube.
After you cut it out, add some little dashes and a pocket with a blue marker so it looks like blue jeans.
Glue onto the roll – make sure it’s right up against the bottom edge.
Next, trace the bottom of the roll onto yellow paper and cut out the circle. Glue onto the bottom of the roll.
Next, cut out a white circle, a smaller black circle, and a strip of black that is 5 1/2 inches long.
Glue the black strip on, and add the eye.
Next, cut out some hair, and glue it on the inside of the front of the roll. Add a mouth with a black marker and voila! A cute little Minion pencil holder!
Hope you guys liked these crafts!
