3 Fall Crafts For Kids

I love to do crafts with my kids. They really enjoy doing them, and are always proud of what they make. My girls Allie and Ashley are 6 and 3, so it’s usually pretty easy to come up with crafts that they both like. Today I’m going to be showing you three fall themed ones that we have done recently that I think any little kid would love to make.

Handprint Pilgrim Turkey

The first one we made are these super cute pilgrim turkeys.

What you need:

White construction paper
Paint (brown, green, red, orange, yellow)
Googly eyes
Markers (brown, black, red)

I made a little palette with all of the colors we needed, and placed a different paintbrush in each one.

The first things you’re going to do is paint your child’s hand. I had to do my three years olds for her, but my six year old could do hers. You have to work quickly so that the paint doesn’t dry; that’s why I used a different paintbrush for each color.

You really want to pack the paint on each finger to get a nice result. I painted the palm and thumb brown to make the turkey’s body, and then the other fingers a different color.

After they are all painted, place them down on a piece of white construction paper.

You may have to touch up the colors a bit with a paintbrush. Let this completely dry.

Add a little pilgrim hat, beak, googly eye and legs. And don’t forget to draw lines on the fingers to make them look like feathers!

The girls both liked this craft the most out of all three!

Fall Tree
The next one is a fall tree, made with paint and cotton swabs.

What you need:

Fall colored paint (we used red, orange, green, brown, yellow)
Cotton swabs
White construction paper
Brown map pencils/markers

I like to pour the paint onto paper plates and make them up a little palette so that they don’t dip the swabs directly into the paint bottles. I placed a cotton swab in each color.

The next part is to draw your tree. We took up the whole page and added a few branches at the top.

Now for the fun part- just let them go to town making dots all over the top forming a tree. The key is to overlap the dots to make it look more realistic.
