At Home Pedicure | How To Get Smooth Soft Feet

Are you one of those people who is always barefoot? Well, I am…I don’t like wearing shoes, I especially don’t like wearing socks, and I can’t be bothered with slippers. I just want my feet to be free!

So yeah, my feet are dry and I have calluses, but I’m not about to go to a nail salon to take care of it. I don’t like nail salons, and I am perfectly capable of doing my own feet.

So, here is how I DIY.

1. Epsom Salt Foot Soak

I fill up my tub just a little bit and add some of this Dr. Teals Foaming Bath. This has Epsom salts and essential oils and makes my feet feel very nice. It smells really good, and is pretty cheap. They have a whole bunch of kinds, but I am really liking this Pink Himalayan Sea Salt kind.

I just sit on the edge of my tub and soak my feet for around 20-30 minutes. I will just relax and read for awhile until I’m tired of sitting there.

2. Pumice

I take one foot out at a time and use a pumice stone on the bottoms of my feet while they are still wet. This is very rough, so be careful to not do it too hard or too long. It will do a really good job of getting rid of dead skin. I will then put that foot back into the tub, and do the other one.

3. File

The next thing I do is take my feet out of the water and dry them off. I use a foot file to smooth the calluses and dry patches. This step really works to make my feet soft again. Don’t do this for too long, or else you’ll have sore feet.

4. File Nails and Paint

After filing, I will grab a nail file and clippers and start working on my toes. I will then paint them and let them dry. I always choose hot pink for my toes 🙂

5. Moisturize

After the polish is dry, I will slather on a really thick lotion, like this Aveeno Skin Relief Overnight Cream. I will then put on some nice thick socks to hold the moisture in and keep the lotion on all night.

When I wake up in the morning, I will have smooth soft feet!

Hope you liked this post and found it helpful 🙂

Five Fashion Faves For Friday

Hello! I love making fashion posts, especially when I get to talk about the trends that I am currently loving. I also love to read fashion posts, because it gives me inspiration to try new things. Here are some cute ones to try!

Ok, so this trend is BIG right now and I LOVE IT. I think these tops are so feminine and flattering. I love how they look flowy and girly. Get the look here.

The first one I have here is a shorter sleeve baby blue balloon sleeve top. I love this color and the fabric is thick, almost like sweatshirt material. So comfy.

This next one is more flowy and long sleeve. I love the blush (my color of life) and how dressy this is.

The next thing I’ve been doing is mixing metals. My husband got me a new silver watch for Christmas, and even though I don’t wear a lot of silver jewelry, I love this watch. I have just been mixing my gold bracelets along with it, and I think it looks really nice. I’ve also been mixing in gold rings with my silver ones.

I am so NOT a sneaker person, but I’ll make an exception for these. I love to wear these with leggings and a cute top, and they are so comfy and cute. I get so many compliments on these when I wear them…maybe I am a sneaker person now? Get them (on sale!) here.

These are so hot right now for the winter, and I really like the look of them. They are still comfy leggings, but a little bit more dressy. I especially love these leggings with a faux leather panel on each side. So cute. Get the look here.

I love high waisted jeans. They are so flattering, and remind me of the 80’s, which I love. These particular ones are a skinny fit and have a zip ankle. Get them here.

That’s it for my fashion faves! Have a good weekend 🙂

5 Minute Mom Face

One of my goals for the new year was to wake up before my girls and get myself showered and ready for the day by 6:30. Getting ready before them really helps with my overall mood for the day, and helps save a lot of time. I also enjoy the time I have by myself in the morning.

Since I have to leave the house at 7:05 a.m. to get Allie to school, I have to hurry with the whole makeup and hair situation. I don’t wash my hair everyday, but I do wear makeup every day. I may not do full makeup everyday, but I gotta do something! Here is my 5 minute makeup routine that I do on most days.

I start off with my moisturizer after I get out of the shower. I have fairly dry skin in the wintertime, so I can’t skip out on this. Gotta hydrate my skin.

I go right in with my Bare Minerals BarePRO Powder Foundation in 04 Aspen. This is so quick and easy to buff in and even out my skin tone.

Covering my dark circles is non-negotiable, so Tarte Shape Tape does the job. I apply a teeny amount and pounce it in real quick with my Beauty Blender Mini.

I need some color to my face, so I’ve been using Benefit Hoola to bronze up around the perimeter of my face. This bronzer is matte, and makes me not so dead looking in the morning.

For blush, I tend to stick to rosy pinks, and I’m using this Hourglass Blush in Luminous Flush. This has a highlighter swirled in too, so DOUBLE WHAMMY. I apply this to the apples of my cheeks with an angled brush.

For my brows, I brush in some Glossier Boy Brow, and I’m good to go. It darkens the hairs and fills in any sparse areas.

Mascara is super important to looking awake and put together, so I always give myself a few generous coats of L’Oréal Lash Paradise!

Lastly, we can’t forget the lips! It pulls the whole look together. I’m using this Glossier lippie in Zip. It’s a sheer matte red that looks so pretty.

That’s it for my 5 Minute Makeup! Throw on some hoops and a cute top, and I’m ready for the day.

ALL the Pinky Neutral Nails

Baby pink nails are a timeless classic; they go with everything, and always look polished and put together. I love them because even if they chip a little bit, you can’t really tell. Most of these go on sheer, but you can build them up for a full coverage look, or leave them sheer for a more natural look.

Here are my favorite baby pink colors.

I hope you aren’t saying these all look the same (lol) because they definitely aren’t!

The two Essie colors that I have here are like “white pinks”, they are very very light (almost white), and the most sophisticated and flattering, IMO.

Essie Ballet Slippers is very very sheer. I like to apply just two coats and let my natural nails peek through. Love this one.

This one is from the Gel Couture line (LOVE) and it’s called Matter of Fiction. This is more opaque than Ballet Slippers – two coats will give you full opacity!

Next are the more neutrally pinks. These pinks have a bit of gray to them.

This is OPI Put It In Neutral. This is a very sheer formula, and looks so natural on the nails. This is like a “your nails but better” color. It has a hint of beige to it.

This one, CND Vinylux In Cake Pop is more opaque, but is still on the neutral side. This line of nail polish is one of my favorites; the colors really do last a week or more!

The last color is the “pinkiest”. This is Zoya Dot. Also sheer (but buildable), this is a true petal pink color that is so pretty and chic on the nails.

So, those are my favorite baby pinks! Are you loving this nail trend? What is your favorite neutral color to wear on your nails?

Thanks for reading 🙂

Hello! I am back with a favorites post, and I really love making these posts. I rediscovered an old face wash and palette, and have been trying out some new things as well. Let’s get into it!

So first off, I don’t know what made me try this mascara, but I’m kinda regretting it because of the price. This is the YSL Faux Cils Babydoll Mascara. I LOVE this mascara so much. It makes my lashes SO VOLUMINOUS. It holds the curl all day, doesn’t flake, and when I’m applying it, it never clumps no matter how many coats I pack on. I hate that I like this because it’s freakin $32.

Next for makeup, this palette that I was obsessed with back in the day (last year, lol).

This is the Marc Jacobs Style Eye Palette in Lolita. This particular palette is d/c, but there are other colors that look beautiful. I love the packaging of this and how small and compact it is. The shadows are amazing and last really well. I’ve been wearing this every day.

I used to use this face wash ERRDAY and I’m not really sure why I stopped. This is Philosophy’s Purity Cleanser. I dug this out from my cabinet and have started using it again, and my skin looks so good! It is a very gentle cleanser and works really well with my Clarisonic. It doesn’t dry out my skin or leave it feeling tight.

Next, a teeeny tiny little sample I got when I placed an order awhile ago, and it is the Living Proof Restore Smooth Blowout Concentrate. I don’t know how this is still half full, cause I’ve used it pretty much every time I’ve blowdried this month. Since it’s a concentrate, I use two pumps (don’t use any more than that), which seems like a tiny amount for my long and thick hair. It’s like a slippery concentrated oil that not only softens the hair, but helps it dry quicker! It gives me a nice and straight blow dry. I’m definitely going to be purchasing this when I run out.

After seeing so many commercials about this, I had to pick it up a few weeks ago at target. This is a new hairspray from TRESemme, it’s the Compressed Micro Mist. There are four different hold levels, but I went for the strongest, because it’s who I am, and I like some stiff hair. Haha, it actually doesn’t leave my hair stiff at all, and I really love it! The smell is really nice, and it’s a super fine mist, so no big clumps of hairspray.

Lastly, and also from Target, the new Mrs. Meyers Multi Surface Spray spring scents are out! I LOVE these, and use them everyday. I use them to clean anything and everything, and this particular one, Peony, leaves my house smelling so good. It smells like a fresh field of flowers, and makes my countertops sparkle. I actually look forward to cleaning because I love this so much.

That’s it for the faves! Hope you enjoyed them.
