Products I’ve Used Up | Quarterly Empties

Hello! It is the end of the quarter, which means it is time for another round of empties! I didn’t use up as much as I normally do, but I think it’s because I haven’t been using beauty products/ wearing makeup as much.

Here they are!

I used up a ton of haircare. Since it’s summer, I tend to wash my hair more often. It’s very hot here in Texas and I can’t go as long without washing my hair because of the humidity.

Here are all of the shampoos and conditioners. The Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner is an old fave, and I think it’s in every empties post! It’s a really great drugstore option. It hydrates, smells good, and leaves my hair silky and soft. Already repurchased!

The Pureology shampoo and conditioner were Christmas gifts and I LOVED them. I love Pureology, but I’m too cheap to buy it for myself. The blue line is for strengthening and smells AMAZING. All of the lines do. I also like the hydrating line in the purple bottle, especially the scent. These really deep clean the hair, and the conditioner is so thick and nice. Love them! I would repurchase even though they’re spendy. $$$

This last one here is my husband’s. He really likes this OGX Tea Tree and Mint shampoo, and I love it too! It smells minty and has a cooling and refreshing feeling. It’s clarifying, so it really deep cleans the hair. I have already repurchased!

Now, a few styling products.

First up is this hairspray, which I’ve been using for YEARS. This is the Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press Thermal Protection Hair Spray. This hair spray holds really nicely, but doesn’t leave my hair crunchy. I also like the light scent of it. Some hairspray scents bother me, but this one is fine and the smell dissipates after awhile. I would repurchase!

Next, the Living Proof Restore Smooth Blow Dry Concentrate. This took me FOREVER to go through this product because you only need one pump. I apply this to wet hair, comb it through, and it’s this luxurious serum that helps with blow-dry time. It really leaves my hair so silky and soft. Would repurchase!

Lastly, the Alterna Replenishing Moisture CC Cream. This is also a product that I use on wet hair, and it is a 10 in one cream that does 10 different things to help your hair, protects from heat, smoothes, etc. I find that when I use this, my curls really last after styling. I would repurchase!

Here’s a few more things I’ve used up; random ones. First, my favorite toothpaste, this Arm and Hammer Advance White Extreme Whitening Toothpaste. This toothpaste isn’t very sweet, but it is minty and my dentist always comments on how white my teeth are. Love it and will always repurchase!

It wouldn’t be an empties post without my favorite mascara, the L’Oréal Lash Paradise. This mascara lengthens, gives volume, and holds a curl. It’s the best. Already repurchased!

This Nivea lotion is my favorite and I use it every single day. It doesn’t have a strong scent at all (which I love) and it gives my skin a glow. It’s not sticky either. Already repurchased!

Last but not least, the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. I love this facial spray sooo much. The smell of it is like a spa, and it is so cooling and refreshing. Once I start spraying my face, I can’t stop! I love to use it at night as part of my nightly skincare routine, but also during the day for a pick me up. Already repurchased.

That’s it for the empties!

Let me know if you want a full review on anything shown!

EAT | White Chip Chocolate Cookies

You guys like cookies, right? ‘Cause I’ve got another cookie recipe for ya. I can’t help it, my girls and I LOVE to make cookies. They are getting so good at it too!

This time, it’s a chocolate cookie with a white chocolate chip. White chocolate just makes any cookie NEXT LEVEL. Go for the Ghirardelli chips too.

What you need:

  • 1/2 cup (one stick) softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Combine softened butter and sugar and cream together.

Add in your egg and vanilla, and mix.

In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add this dry mixture to your wet mixture and mix until creamy and smooth.

Lastly, add your chocolate chips.

Roll into 2 inch balls and place on a baking sheet. I use reusable mats but you can also use baking spray or parchment.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

YES. Perfectly chewy and chocolatey.

Place on a rack to cool.

This recipe makes about two dozen cookies, but you can easily double it for more!

Lil Sephora Haul

Hello! Do you guys miss shopping as much as I do? I just love to go into a store, browse around, look at new things, and take my time. I just love going shopping and the whole experience. BUT, given the circumstances, I have been shopping online, and it’s really just not as much fun.

Alas, I needed more hairspray from Sephora, so I picked up a few other things to go with it. Cause that’s what happens.

If you have been reading for awhile, you’ll know that I am a HUGE Bare Minerals fan. I really love the brand and every product I’ve tried from them has been good.

I have been using the Bare Minerals Original Powder Foundation in the color Fairly Light for more than a decade now, and I just love it. It is my every day light coverage powder foundation. It’s buildable, it lasts, and the color suits me just right.

To go along with the foundation, I picked up another Bare Minerals Prime Time Original Foundation Primer. I use a tiny bit of this before my foundation and it helps create a nice smooth canvas and helps it last longer. It has a slippery silicone feel and makes my skin feel really soft.

I picked up two mask type products. First, the Philosophy Purity Pore Extractor Mask. This is a clay purifying mask that eliminates blackheads and shrinks down pores. I used this awhile ago and really liked it, so I just repurchased that.

I received a sample of this Wishful Yo Glow Facial Enzyme scrub, and I loved it so much I had to purchase. This is an exfoliator with pineapple enzymes, AHA, and BHA. Not only does this smell delicious, but it really does a good job of exfoliating. I apply a little bit of this all over my face, let it sit for a minute or two, and then scrub. It really removes all of the dead skin and leaves my skin seriously glowy! I love this.

Lastly, the reason for my order, is the Sephora Collection Texturizing Spray. This is my third can of this stuff and it is my new favorite texture spray. I spray this in after curling my hair and it gives THE BEST beachy messy waves with light hold, matte finish, and it’s not crunchy. It smells good and I love the packaging.

That’s it for my lil haul! Have you tried any of these products?

The Perfect Summery Rose Gold Nail

Hello! I love a fresh manicure, and like to switch up my nail color a few times a week. Now that it is almost summer, I have been loving hot pinks and bright colors, and especially this ROSE GOLD.

This is OPI Cozu-Melted In the Sun.

This color is STUNNING in person and I always get compliments. It reminds me of the NARS Orgasm blush, but in NAIL form!

It is this super shimmery metallic rose gold color that just makes me look tan and ready for the beach!

I used two coats and it’s fully opaque. OPI has such a good formula and it lasts almost a week without chipping.

Here it is outside in the sun.

What colors have you been loving on your nails?

EAT | DIY Starbucks Cold Brew

It’s no secret that I love coffee and am addicted to it. I love a warm cup in the morning, and an iced cup in the afternoon! Today I am sharing how I make my own COLD BREW coffee.

Cold brew is different from regular iced coffee because it doesn’t get as watered down, and is generally stronger and less acidic.

I have this little cold brew pitcher that I use. You take off the top, fill the filter with a few scoops of ground coffee, add some water, put it in the fridge, and a day later you have delicious cold brew.

I use the Starbucks Blonde Roast for this, and it is so good. Just pour over some ice and you’re good! Sometimes I add creamer.

Most of the time though, I like to be fancy and make the Vanilla Cold Foam Cold Brew that Starbucks makes.

What you need:

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup cold brew coffee
    1/4 cup milk or cream
    1 tsp vanilla syrup

Add your cold brew to your glass with some ice.

Add your milk and vanilla syrup to a small glass.

Using a milk frother, whip up the milk so it doubles in volume and gets really foamy. My coffee machine has an attached frother, but you can find cute little handheld ones here.

Pour over your cold brew.

Just like Starbucks; so creamy and delicious!
