New L’Oréal Air Volume Mascara Review

My favorite makeup product to test out is mascara. I love to try all the new mascaras that come out, especially from the drugstore. Maybe something new will measure up to my beloved L’Oréal Lash Paradise.

This is the L’Oréal Air Volume Mega Mascara.

How pretty is the packaging on this?! I love the pretty pink color.

I picked this up from my local Walmart for $10.97. I always choose blackest black and non-waterproof.

This mascara promises MEGA Volume, and I love volumized lashes, so I was excited to try this! It is also supposed to have an airy and light formula.

First off, as soon as I opened up the tube, I noticed a strong chemical smell. Very strong. Most mascaras don’t have a smell, but this one did. As I wore it throughout the day, the smell did go away, though.

As for the brush, I’m pretty sure that it is identical to the Lash Paradise brush, but the formula of the mascara does feel lighter, and kind of mousse like.

When I applied this to my lashes, it was a very “wet” formula, meaning there is a lot of it on the brush, and even wiping the brush off, I still end up with a LOT of product on my lashes. This immediately weighs down my lashes and makes them feel very heavy.

I tried this a few times, and it just did not work for me. It’s too wet. It didn’t give me any volume or lift, it just kind of clumped my lashes together and took forever to dry. Every day I wore this, it was a bad lash day.

This was sadly, a fail for me.

Have you tried this mascara?

Sparkly Barbie Pink Nails

Ever since I was little, I have loved the color pink, especially on my nails. I have done this particular pink manicure three times in a row, so I thought I would share it today!

First, I used Essie Gel Couture color in Model Citizen, a creamy blue based hot pink. I applied two coats, and let that dry.

I then took the Essie color Bonbon Nuit from their recent Winter Collection and layered one thin coat overtop. This is a cool pale pink glitter topper with a gold pearl sheen.

I think the finished product is so so pretty!

Essie really does have the best colors.

5 Drugstore Gems You NEED

Dude. I have been LOVING the drugstore lately for my beauty goodies. I have recently discovered a few things that I have to share with you, just because they are so good!

So first off, the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub. Yes, I have tried this before, but not this SCENT! This is the Tropical Mango scent and omg it smells so good. I can’t stop smelling it. It smells like a fruity mango cocktail. I love to use this scrub on my body and it exfoliates, but also leaves my skin super soft. It is also very cheap for a ton of product! $8.99 at ULTA.

Next, the Garnier Micellar Water, but in the ROSE scent. I have used this micellar water for years, and love it for removing makeup. I just discovered this rose scent, and being obsessed with anything rose scented, I love this! It does such a good job of removing all of my makeup without leaving me oily or burning my eyes. Love it. $8.99 at ULTA.

Now for some makeup! I have been loving this L’Oréal Lumi Glotion in the shade Fair Glow. There are four shades to choose from, so I chose the lightest. First off the packaging is perfect. Squeezy tubes are my favorite, and the color of this bottle has like a holo pink shift in the light. It is so pretty.

The product is like a shimmery nude colored liquid that doesn’t have glitter, just sheen. It looks so pretty and glowy on its own, or layered underneath makeup. I am so surprised at how much I love this. It’s just as good as high end glowy primers. $14.99 at ULTA.

Next this Elf Monochromatic Multi-Stick in Glistening Peach. This is BEAUTIFUL on the cheeks as blush, and so easy to apply with my fingers.

It is the prettiest peachy pink color with a golden sheen. I love the packaging and how small it is. Perfect for travel. I want all of the other colors! $4 at ULTA.

Lastly, a highlighter. This is the Wet N Wild Powder Highlighter in Golden Flower Crown. I have been loving the golden hued highlighters, and this one is so so pretty. It’s golden without being too warm toned, and gives such a pretty glow to the skin. $5.99 at ULTA.

What have you been loving from the drugstore? Have you tried any of these?

Reading Wrap Up | March

Hello! It’s been awhile, but I have some books to review for you today! All are thriller/mysteries which is what I like most. Here’s what I read in March.

The Housekeeper – Natalie Barelli

This book is about a girl named Claire who sees a girl that she used to know named Hannah. Hannah wasn’t very nice to her all of those years ago, and “took everything from her”,so Claire decides to stalk her. She finds out about Hannah’s seemingly “perfect life” and wants to get revenge by applying for Hannah’s housekeeper position.

This book had total The Last Mrs. Parrish vibes, which I reviewed back in December. If you liked that book, you’ll like this one. It really was an entertaining book and had some good twists.

Playing Nice – J.P. Delaney

This next book was a family drama/thriller that I could not put down! This was about a man named Pete who drops off his son at preschool and returns home to find a man named Miles. Miles tells Pete that his son Theo is not really his, that there was a mix up at the hospital the day Theo was born, and that their sons were switched at birth. Miles doesn’t know what to think, and as he gets to know the other family, he uncovers secrets about them.

It was a little bit sad, kind of even heart wrenching at times when Pete thinks of his life without his son that he has raised for two years.

I Am Watching You – Teresa Driscoll

I Am Watching You – Teresa Driscoll

This one was just ok for me. It switched a lot between first and third person, which annoyed me a lot. It was about a woman named Anna who sees a pair teenage of girls on a train and sees some older men flirting with them and overhears that these men have just gotten out of prison. The woman wants to protect the girls from these men but something stops her from doing anything. The girls leave with the men that night, and then she later learns that one of the girls disappeared that night. Soon Anna begins to get threatening letters and realizes someone must have seen her on the train that night.

It seems like a great plot, but really was just boring and took a long time to get to the point. This one was just ok for me.

That’s it for my March books!
