EAT | Key Lime Pie

There is nothing like a cool slice of key lime pie on a warm spring day! This key lime pie is one of my favorite desserts to eat – the cool and tart filling mixed with the sweet and crunchy graham cracker crust is perfection!

Here’s how I make it!

What you need:

For the crust:

– 1 sleeve graham crackers

– 6 tbsp melted butter

– 1/3 cup sugar

For the filling :

– 3 egg yolks

– 1 tsp lime zest

– 1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk

– 2/3 cup key lime juice

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place grahams, butter, and sugar in the food processor. Pulse until combined.

Once all combined, press evenly into your pie pan. How easy is that crust?!

Bake for 5 – 7 minutes, or until slightly browned.

Now for the filling! Enlist some helpers for this part here. You are gonna have to juice about 25 key limes. And NOOO, store bought lime juice ain’t it. We want fresh juice and zest, it makes all the difference.

With a mixer, beat your egg yolks and lime zest on high for 5 minutes until it becomes thick.

Add in the sweet condensed milk and beat for another 3-4 minutes. Lower your speed and then add in all of that delicious lime juice!

Pour the mixture into the crust, and bake for 10 minutes or until set. You’ll know when it’s set because if you try to jiggle it, you’ll see that it’s not liquid anymore. Let cool and refrigerate.

I love to serve it with whipped cream on top!

I hope you enjoy it!

Top 5 Makeup Brushes

We are talking the best of the best today. The tried and true, use everyday, deserted island brushes. These 5 are all I need for my perfect makeup look!

I have three face brushes and two eye brushes. Let’s start with the face ones.

So first off, my Bare Minerals Precision Face Brush. You know my love for Bare Minerals runs deep, and I use this brush everyday to apply my powder foundation. I use both the pressed and loose versions, and this brush is my secret weapon. It is dense and angled, and it applies the foundation flawlessly and blends it perfectly!

For blush, I love an angled brush, and this Morphe M435 is perfect. It is just the right size, the bristles are soft and it is so easy to blend my blush upwards.

Lastly for face, we have the Ecotools Blending and Bronzing Brush. This is a duo-fiber brush that is so so good for applying bronzer. It is soft, but not too soft, and helps me blend in my bronzer all over the perimeter of my face. It’s also not too big, so you have good control with it, even though you’re putting it all over. Love this one.

So for eyes, I chose two. The Sigma E25 is THE only brush I can apply eyeshadow with. It’s not too fluffy, and I love how it tapers on the end. You can lay down color with this brush, and you can also blend with it. It’s a twofer.

Lastly, an angled brush for doing my brows. This one is from Chanel, but any one will do, as long as it is dense and not real soft. I apply brow powder every day because I love the natural brow look, and an angled brush is perfect for laying down the color in short strokes.

That’s it for my Top 5 Brushes! What brushes can you not live without?

EAT | Chic-fil-A at HOME

This post is so exciting to me because I absolutely love eating Chic-fil-A and I have figured out how to make it at home! We live in the country, and the nearest Chic-fil-A is 30 minutes away in San Antonio, so we don’t go there as often as we would like! With this nugget recipe, I don’t even miss it!

So, I will be showing you how to make the nuggets, but you could also use this batter recipe for strips, or even chicken breasts and make the sandwich.

In addition to nuggets, you’ll also need these:

Waffle fries, lemonade, and we love the Polynesian sauce. They sell this sauce at my local H‑E‑B! I think they sell CFA sauce too.

Here’s how to make the nuggets.

What you need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 chicken breasts, cut into chunks
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • peanut oil for frying

First thing is to grind up the breadcrumbs. They’re already pretty fine, but we want them to be a powder consistency. I used my food processor for this.

Next you’re going to mix together your milk, eggs, and chicken chunks and put them into a big ziplock.

Place this into the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.

Heat up oil to medium heat.

Mix together all of your dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk it up.

Remove chicken from fridge and dip into mixture until it’s all coated and place into your hot pan.

Fry both sides until they’re golden brown. Place on cookie sheet to cool.

Serve with your waffle fries and sauce. Don’t forget the lemonade!

Just like CFA!!!

Physicians Formula All-Star Face Palette | Review + Swatches

I would be lying if I said I didn’t buy this palette totally based on the packaging. I am a sucker for anything floral printed and pretty! I haven’t tried a whole lot from Physicians Formula, but knew I had to try out this palette!

This is the All Star Face Palette. I picked it up from my local Wal-Mart for $14.98. A steal for 6 face powders if you ask me. I love that this is a face palette, with no eyeshadows. I have enough eye palettes!

This palette comes with two bronzer powders, two highlight powders, a blush powder, and an all over face powder. How gorgeous is this?!

This palette includes:

-Murumuru Butter Bronzer

-Matte Monoi Butter Bronzer (Limited Edition)

-Mineral Glow Pearls (Limited Edition)

-Rose All Day Petal Glow

-Multi Colored Pressed Powder (Limited Edition)

-Glow & Mood Boosting Blush (Limited Edition)

So the palette itself is pretty big, but thin enough to where it isn’t very bulky. It doesn’t have a mirror, and it has a very strong coconut/tropical smell. If you’ve ever tried their butter bronzer, it is the same smell as that.

Let’s start with the bronzers. So it has the Murumuru Butter Bronzer on the top row. This is a bronzer with a sheen to it. Very, very pretty and will give you a sunkissed glow. No glitter, just sheen.

On the bottom row, there is the Matte Monoi Butter Bronzer. This bronzer is matte, and has a deeper color to it. This bronzer is too dark for me, but I am very fair. This bronzer would work for a lot of different skin tones, and I like that it is matte.

Next, the highlight powders. There are two here, on the top there is the Mineral Glow Pearls which is a pearly colored highlight. Again, there is no glitter here just a nice sheen.

On the bottom is a more champagne gold tone highlight powder, the Rose All Day Petal Glow. Both of these are gorgeous and work well for me. I apply them to the tops of my cheekbones after blush.

Next, there is a matte face powder, the Multi-Colored Pressed Powder. This is a powder that you can use to set makeup and also under the eyes. This powder is a good shade for me and feel like it may not work for deeper skin tones. It’s really light.

Lastly, the blush. I love this blush, it is probably my favorite in the palette besides the shimmery bronzer. This is a rosy toned pink with a golden sheen. This color is good for all skin tones in my opinion! It’s beautiful.

Here are the swatches- top row and bottom.

Top Row – from l to r : Murumuru Butter Bronzer, Mineral Glow Pearls, Multicolored Pressed Powder

Bottom row – from l to r : Matte Monoi Butter Bronzer, Rose All Day Petal Glow, Glow & Mood Boosting Blush

Overall, I absolutely love this palette and have used it every day since I bought it! I think it has something for everyone. The shades last all day on my skin and give such a pretty glowy look.

Have you tried this palette? Let me know how you like it!

Quarterly Empties | Products I’ve Used Up

Hello! It is time for some reviews on products I have recently used up! I tend to use the same products over and over if they work for me, so in a way this is kind of like a mini favorites review. Let me know if you still like these types of posts!

Bring on the empties!

Let’s start with the makeup.

First, my favorite mascara probably of all time. L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise, aka the best mascara ever, I have raved and raved about it. I love everything about it, it gives volume, keeps your curl, and super black and thick. No clumping, no flaking, nada. Already repurchased!

Next, my favorite drugstore concealer, Maybelline Fit Me. This is a skin-like lightweight concealer that looks so natural and actually covers. It’s not as thick as Tarte Shape Tape, but for everyday makeup, it’s my go-to. Already repurchased!

A lipgloss! I used up a lipgloss! Crazy because we have to wear masks everywhere, but I did manage to finally use it up. I just wear it around the house, haha! This is a really pretty pink, the color is Vanilla Cream Pie, and it adds lots of shine and moisture to my lips. I love these NYX glosses because they come in so many different colors and they aren’t sticky! Definite repurchase.

I used up a few hair products – this shampoo is always in these empties posts because I love it! This is the OGX Teatree and Mint Shampoo, and it is one of the best shampoos I’ve ever used. It really cleans the hair and feels minty and refreshing. I love the smell! Already repurchased.

This Sephora Collection Texturizing Spray is really really good. I love to use a wand to curl my hair, and then use this spray to give it kind of an un-done look. I don’t like a curl anymore, just a slight bend gives a really nice look. It’s not sticky or crunchy and it does hold my hair in place. I would repurchase!

I use this Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water every night to remove my makeup. It does a great job of it and doesn’t sting my eyes or leave my skin greasy. I always wash my face after using. I recently discovered the new Rose scented one, and that’s the fave now! Already repurchased.

This Aveeno Skin Relief Overnight Cream really helps if you have dry skin. My six year old gets super dry skin in the winter, so I use this every night on her skin and it helps so much. I also love to use this lotion for my feet. It is very thick and creamy, doesn’t have a scent, and it softens the skin. I already repurchased it.

This Philosophy Purity Mask was really just ok for me. It was a standard drying clay mask, it wasn’t anything special and didn’t do anything for my skin. I would rather use the Sephora Collection Mud Mask, which I love.

Lastly, a toothpaste, my favorite toothpaste that I always use. The Arm and Hammer Advance White. This toothpaste really keeps my teeth white and I love how the taste isn’t too sweet. It also foams up a lot, which I really like. It has baking soda, so it really is good for whitening. Already repurchased!

That’s it for the empties! Have you used any of these?
