This post is so exciting to me because I absolutely love eating Chick-fil-A and I have figured out how to make it at home! We live in the country, and the nearest Chick-fil-A is 30 minutes away in San Antonio, so we don’t go there as often as we would like! With this nugget recipe, I don’t even miss it!
So, I will be showing you how to make the nuggets, but you could also use this batter recipe for strips, or even chicken breasts and make the sandwich.
In addition to nuggets, you’ll also need these:
Waffle fries, lemonade, and we love the Polynesian sauce. They sell this sauce at my local H‑E‑B! I think they sell CFA sauce too.
Here’s how to make the nuggets.
What you need:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 chicken breasts, cut into chunks
- 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 3 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- peanut oil for frying
First thing is to grind up the breadcrumbs. They’re already pretty fine, but we want them to be a powder consistency. I used my food processor for this.
Next you’re going to mix together your milk, eggs, and chicken chunks and put them into a big ziplock.
Place this into the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
Heat up oil to medium heat.
Mix together all of your dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk it up.
Remove chicken from fridge and dip into mixture until it’s all coated and place into your hot pan.
Fry both sides until they’re golden brown. Place on cookie sheet to cool.
Serve with your waffle fries and sauce. Don’t forget the lemonade!
