5 Cream Makeup Products For That Dewy Glow

At 37, my skin is not as youthful as it once was. I find my powders creasing and making my fine lines more noticeable. I have decided to abandon powders because they really just don’t do my dry skin any favors at all! Bye Bare Minerals!

I am wanting that clean skin dewy look for my makeup, and cream products look SO much better and youthful! If you find that your makeup is looking crepey and powdery, maybe try out a cream product instead!

Here are my top 5 favorites.

2 Fair, Pink Dahlia

These two are the real MVP’s right here. This Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter is my most favorite makeup product probably ever. I use this as a primer every day after my moisturizer and it gives the prettiest glow (no glitter/shimmer). I haven’t been wearing foundation, so just this and a little bit of concealer is my jam! It doesn’t give much coverage, but I don’t like much, and it just takes the dullness away! This shade (2 fair) is a bit dark and peachy for me, so I just purchased the lightest shade (1 fair) in the full size. Can’t wait to get it!

For blush, this Anastasia Stick Blush in Pink Dahlia is perfect. The cream is a rosy pink color and blends like a freakin dream! I dot this on the apples of my cheeks and a little across my nose, and use either my fingers or the little brush attached to blend it out. It gives like sunburnt-but-in-a-good-way vibes. Obsessed!

Here are swatches of both!

Oak’s On You, Lit, Iced Mocha

For my skintone, I have to have a little bit of bronzer. I have fair skin (think MAC NW20), and so without bronzer my skin looks dull and uneven. This cream bronzer stick from Wet N Wild is matte, and not orangey! It glides on my skin and gives a healthy glow to my face. It just makes me look alive! I only need a little and I apply it at the tops of my cheekbones, and across my hairline at my forehead. It blends out so smoothly and doesn’t look cakey. Love that it’s drugstore!

For highlight, I love this Lit color by Milk. This is a light champagne gold shimmery color without glitter. I use a bit of this on the high points of my face (above blush on very top of cheeks, a tiny bit on the top of my nose, and in my inner corners). I swear, this makes me look youthful! I love stick products like these because they’re so easy to just dab on.

Lastly is an oldie but goodie product that I’ve been using for YEARS. This is the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Iced Mocha. If you like MAC Satin Taupe, this is the same color but in cream form. It’s a shimmery bronze taupe color that is a one-and-done shade for me. I smudge this on my eyelids and a little underneath my eyes, and blend it out with my fingers. So pretty and effortless.

  1. I’ve tried the Fenty Match Stix Shimmer Skinsticks for blush but found it to be hard to blend. Maybe I’d like Charlotte Tilbury better! I also really liked the Milk Makeup bronzer. I should get some more of that.

  2. At 38 I’m definitely starting to experiment more with cream products! Obsessed with eyeshadow sticks at the moment.
