The Best Drugstore Makeup

I really tried to narrow this down to TOP 5, but I couldn’t! These 6 are my all-time favorite AFFORDABLE makeup products. There is really no need to spend a ton of money on makeup when there are such great options at the drugstore.

Here they are!

This L’Oréal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation is one of my top foundations of all time. It provides a solid medium coverage (but is buildable) and gives such a NATURAL look. The finish is dewy and skin like. I also really like the packaging, you don’t have to worry about the plastic squeeze tube breaking or anything in your makeup bag. I wear the shade 201 Classic Ivory.

Next up is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. This concealer has been around forever, and it never fails me. I wear the shade Fair. This concealer is a liquid with a doe foot applicator. It comes in a ton of shades and covers my dark circles without being drying. It hydrates my under eyes and doesn’t crease. Love it!

A fairly new product that made the list is the Covergirl Clean Fresh Pressed Powder. I have the shade Fair. First off, the pink packaging is so cute, it reminds me of Too Faced. The powder inside is so soft and smooth, and my pores disappear when I apply this. It keeps my face shine free and actually could be used as a powder foundation because of the coverage it gives. I would take this over any of my high end powders!

A product I have talked about nonstop is the L’Oréal Lash Paradise Mascara. This is my favorite drugstore mascara of all time. It is very comparable to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (even the packaging is similar). I actually prefer this over that mascara though.

It lengthens the lashes like you wouldn’t believe! It is super black and holds the curl all day. The only con is that it dries out pretty quickly, within about 2 months. I think it is still worth it, though!

For years I was obsessed with the Urban Decay 24/7 pencils, until I discovered these Maybelline Tattoo Studio Gel Pencil Liners. This is in the dark brown color, Bold Brown. This blows my UD Demolition liner out of the water in lasting power and in color. It’s also about half the price!

Lastly, the NYX Butter Glosses. These glosses are a cult fave, and everyone loves them! They are smooth and non-sticky, and come in a TON of colors. This color is Vanilla Cream Pie, a gorgeous sheer bright pink. I LOVE the shade. They also smell like vanilla.

Here’s a swatch.

So, that’s it for my drugstore favorites! It was hard to pick only 6, but these products never fail me, and I love how they are available everywhere.

What are your favorite drugstore products that I should try? Let me know in the comments!

Sephora HAUL

It’s FRIDAY!!! I never looked forward to Friday as much as I do now that I am in charge of homeschooling my girls!

Let’s celebrate with a haul. I picked up a few things from Sephora and thought it would be fun to share! There is a sale coming up, so maybe this will give you some ideas!

I picked up a few haircare items, this Hair Primer from Sephora Collection called to me, it says it protects against heat, detangles, and nourishes hair. It’s in a pretty big bottle, and was only $12. I will try this on my girls’ hair and also my hair!

Next is the Ouai Leave in Conditioner. I just talked about this in my empties, I used up the mini bottle so I purchased the big size. I LOVE the smell of Ouai products. A lot of people (I mean a lot) say that they don’t like the smell in the reviews, but I think it smells so good. It is very perfume-y. This product makes my hair so soft and helps detangle.

Next up are two glosses. I love the Marc Jacobs glosses, this color is Sugar High and is a rosy color with some sheen. I love the formula of these because they aren’t sticky and actually last.

I had never tried the Sephora Glossed glosses before, but I saw this metallic cranberry color in Witty, and thought it would be so perfect for the holidays!

This Laneige Lip Mask has been on my list for a long time, and I finally pulled the trigger. It is expensive, but it comes with a ton of product and has amazing reviews! I get really dry lips, so hopefully it helps with that. It smells like gummy bears!

Lastly this liquid NARS blush in Torrid. This is a peachy pink with a metallic gold sheen that I thought would be so pretty. I love liquid and cream blushes because I feel like they last longer than powder.

So, that’s what I picked up! Have you tried any of these?

Products I’ve Used Up | Quarterly Empties

Hello! I have taken a short break, but I am ready to get back to posting regularly.

Both of my girls are currently participating in remote schooling, so I have been very busy with that and also all of their extra curricular activities! It has been a lot!

Today I have some empties to share that I have been accumulating, along with little mini-reviews!

For hair, I used up one of my favorite dry shampoos, the Batiste Dry Shampoo. I like this one because it doesn’t have a strong scent, and it makes my hair feel clean! I have already repurchased a new can.

Next is the Its A Ten Miracle Leave In Product. This is a leave in conditioner, detangler, etc (it does 10 things!). I use this product on my girls because they both have long hair. They love the scent and it makes their hair so soft! I will definitely repurchase this!

Lastly, a new product I discovered- the Ouai Leave in Conditioner. I LOVE the smell of Ouai products, it reminds me of getting my hair done and smells like a hair salon. This product leaves my hair so soft and is really nice to use before blowdrying. I have purchased the full size.

This Clarisonic cleanser is what I use every day with my Clarisonic. Sadly, Clarisonic has gone out of business, so I guess I will need to find a new cleanser! Let me know of some good ones if you have any! Anyway, I used up two of these.

Next for body care is the Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. I got this solely for the smell. It is tropical, coconutty, and just like a beach vacation! It does moisturize very well, too. I would repurchase for the summertime.

Next up are a few makeup items!

The Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue is a tinted moisturizer with SPF 30 that I love to use on my no-makeup-makeup days. This is a very light coverage cream that I am able to rub in with my fingers quickly. It evens out my skin tone and makes me look more put together. I would repurchase!

Next up is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. This powder is really nice and very very soft. It takes away any shine without making your skin look dry. I’m not very big on setting powders, so I probably wouldn’t repurchase. It is pretty expensive, and a drugstore powder does the same thing in my opinion!

For mascara, I used up the Benefit Roller Lash. This is my favorite high end mascara! It lengthens, holds a curl, and it is super black. I will definitely repurchase as soon as I use up all of my others!

For lips, I have two empties. First is the Glossier Birthday Balm Dot Com. This is a lip balm that smells JUST LIKE CAKE and has a slight shimmer. It is really pretty, I love the packaging, and it keeps my lips moisturized. I will repurchase!

Another product that is so moisturizing is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. My favorite color is the Rose, and it smells like lemon cake. It leaves a sheer red tint to the lips that is very subtle. I would definitely repurchase.

That’s it for the empties. It feels so good to use up products! Let me know if you want an in-depth review on anything shown!

Brand Focus | Bare Minerals

Hello! If you have been following my blog for awhile, you might know of my love for Bare Minerals products. More specifically, their face products. I haven’t tried many of their eye and lip products, but their face products are my favorite. I hardly ever use anything else!

Here are my top 5 products from the brand!

I have to first start off with the Bare Minerals Original Loose Powder Foundation SPF 15. This stuff right here is my favorite foundation of all time, and I have been using it for almost 12 years!!! I wear the shade Fairly Light. It is a loose powder, which is kind of messy, but it’s worth it to me. You tap a little bit of powder in the cap, swirl your brush into it (I recommend THIS BRUSH), and buff it into the skin. You can layer it, and it is buildable. The result is so SKINLIKE and natural.

If you don’t like liquid foundation (most of it feels greasy and like a mask to me), you need to try this! It’s like your not even wearing makeup! It’s like your skin, but just evened out and pretty. I even wore this on my wedding day! Just check out the reviews on this foundation.

Ok, so the runner up to this is the Bare Minerals BarePro Pressed Powder Foundation. This came out years after the original, and it is a lot nicer due to the fact that it is pressed. It is way less messy, BUT, it doesn’t have SPF, and doesn’t quite provide the coverage that the original foundation does. That being said, I still love it. I wear the shade Aspen (the shades are different), and I use this on an everyday basis where I don’t really need a lot of coverage, just something light to even out my skin tone. This is also a really nice touch up powder and purse friendly.

Lastly for the powder products, is this blush. This is the Bare Minerals Gen Nude matte blush in Call My Blush. I love this blush line because the blushes actually last on the skin, and this color in particular is so nice. It is the perfect rosy pink, and I love that it is matte. It looks so natural and is buildable.

Here’s a swatch!

Next, some liquid products.

This Bare Minerals Prime Time Foundation Primer is my favorite because it works under any foundation! It is a clear thicker type gel consistency, and has the silicone feel to it. It smooths the skin, fills in pores and gives the perfect base for foundation.

Lastly, this Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is like a tinted moisturizer and has SPF 30. I wear the shade Vanilla, and it doesn’t provide much coverage, but I like how it just evens out my skin tone and provides sunscreen. This is a great product for the summer. You don’t even need a brush to apply, just use your fingers and you’re good to go!

That is it for my favorite Bare Minerals products!

July Faves

Hello! I’ve got some new faves to share! I can’t believe it is the end of July – and life still isn’t back to normal…but at least we have some cool products to distract us with…?

Ok, here they are!

First off, this amazing all-in-one palette! This is the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette in Gorgeous Glowing Beauty. This palette has three eye colors, a bronzer, two blush colors, and a highlight. This has everything you need to get the prettiest glow. Charlotte Tilbury’s products never disappoint.

A few more makeup products – this Pacifica lip gloss in Beach Kiss. This is the prettiest rose gold gloss that is so shimmery! It’s not sticky and it lasts. Love the color!

This brown gel pencil eyeliner from Maybelline is so smooth and STAYS. I love this even more than my beloved UD Demolition pencil. I use this on my lashline and tight line, and it just looks more natural and softer than using a black liner. It is actually really difficult to remove, but makeup remover takes it off. Love it.

Here are some swatches:

You know I had to include a nail color!

This is Essie Model Citizen, the perfect hot pink creme color! So summery and pretty! Love the Gel Couture line. Opaque in just two coats.

Next, a jewelry cleaner, because this thing is SO COOL. It’s like one of those twist up brush tip lip glosses. You twist it up, wet it, and brush it all over your jewelry. I use this on my wedding ring and it makes it look like when the jeweler cleans it!

Lastly, a bubble bath, because we all need some SELF-CARE.

I love this Dr. Teals Foaming Bath, but had never tried this scent. It smells sweet with the almond oil and is so moisturizing. It also makes a ton of bubbles!

So, that is it for the faves! What have you been loving this month?
