I love lip products that go on clear and color change. I have tried a bunch of them, but my favorite is this one by Winky Lux! This is the Confetti Balm in Lavender.
She’s a beauty!
I first saw this balm at Ulta with my daughter Allie, I took her to lunch and shopping after her 5th grade graduation this year. I told her she could pick out anything she wanted, and she picked this Winky Lux balm! She’s been using it a lot and she loves it, so she got me one for my birthday! I am so glad she did, because now I am hooked on it too!
It’s the packaging for me. The packaging for all of the Winky Lux products is so pretty and fancy. It comes in a little silver bullet, and is a sheer purple-y pink with different color sparkles inside. It’s just fun to look at!
Once you apply it to your lips, it changes with your pH to your “perfect color” which for me and Allie is just a really rosy pink color. The glitter doesn’t feel chunky or scratchy on your lips, and it is so moisturizing. It is just a tinted balm that is so easy to have for a little pick me up. It’s gorgeous!
I have had this palette for awhile now, and I thought it would be a great time for me to review it for you. This is the perfect little neutral palette, and it has everything you need to create a fresh and pretty look! This is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Palette.
This palette retails for $29 and is available at both Sephora and Ulta.
This is a mini palette, and comes with six different shades.
Glassy – light cream sheen
Public – peachy champagne gold shimmer
Laced Up – dusty rose matte
Stolen – mauve taupe shimmer
Right Time – grey purple matte
Spiced – deep charcoal grey
These shades are relatively cool, which I love and I prefer for my skintone. Here are the swatches.
I love the mix of shades in this palette. It has three shimmery shades with three matte shades. The shimmery shades don’t have chunky glitter on them, so I don’t get any fall out. The matte shades are pigmented and smooth.
I can use this palette for day or night, and every shade is usable! I use the shade spiced to smoke up any look and is also very good as liner. The shimmery shades are so pretty just all over the lid and in the inner corner highlight.
I absolutely love this palette and have been reaching for it everyday! It is so small, so it is perfect for travel. If you are looking for a new eyeshadow palette, check out this one!
This is a lip oil that I have been wanting to try. The packaging is so cute and it smells really good. I wanted to try the shade fruitjuice, which is described as a neutral magenta. Here’s a swatch! It looks like a very sheer wash of berry on my lips. So gorg.
I have used this before, and I loved it. When I used it, there was a limited shade range and I couldn’t find a color to suit me. I decided to try this again because I saw more shades were added. I love that this has SPF 50, and I love the packaging with the pump. The finish is so nice too. Can’t wait to use this again.
This is a very affordable lash serum that I am so excited to try. I have previously used Revitalash and absolutely loved it, but it was very expensive. I am hoping to get the same results with this one!
I don’t ever buy full size perfume because I never use it all. I’m just not that into perfume. I do love to buy these rollerballs because I can put them in my purse. This scent smells so good- very fruity with jasmine, musk, and amber. It is very similar to Ariana Grande’s Cloud but more sophisticated.
This was a little freebie I chose. I have really been curious about this brand, the packaging is so cute and their products have great reviews, especially the hair oil. I love to use leave in treatments, so I’m excited to try this!
That’s everything I picked up from Sephora! Have you tried any of these products?
So, first off. I love the color and packaging. You get a ton of product, and the smell is amazing, like gummy bears. BUT, I just don’t like sticking my finger in there and applying it to my lips that way. I just don’t. I prefer a lip balm in a stick form. But that was my mistake, I clearly knew it was in a tub when I bought it.
The thing is, it isn’t moisturizing! I honestly think it makes my lips chapped. For a mask, it’s very thin and doesn’t stay on long at all. It just wasn’t it for me. I prefer my Burt’s Bees over this.
This stuff is very pricey, but it does come in a large tub. It is a translucent powder that is supposed to give a soft focus blurring effect. For me, it doesn’t blur. What it does do is give me a huge white cast no matter how little I apply. It really leaves my skin so incredibly dry, and doesn’t give me a skin like finish.
I also really don’t like loose powder, but thought I would give it a go because of all of the positive reviews. I prefer the Hourglass pressed powders or the BM Pressed Mineral Veil. Those blur and don’t leave a white cast.
Years ago, I loved this concealer; it was my go to. I recently purchased it again because I remembered how much I used to love it! I’m not sure if the formula has changed or what, but this is a lot thicker and drier than I remember – and this is coming from a Tarte Shape Tape girl. I was hoping for a change from the shape tape, something lighter and with a hydrating finish. It was just way too drying.
The more I wear this nail color, the more I don’t like it. Unlike other pale pink colors that I own, this color really leans…warm? It has kind of a orange-tan look to it rather than a pale pink. I just don’t like this, and I regret buying it since I never reach for it.
I don’t have sensitive skin, but this stuff BURNS. I get that it is a peeling exfoliant, but I can’t even leave it on for a full minute because it hurts so bad! I have read such great reviews on it, and I think the problem is that I have dry skin. It has such good ingredients and I love exfoliators, so I was sad this didn’t work out!
Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? Let me know!
I’d say out of all the makeup products, lip gloss is my favorite. It’s the makeup item that I buy the most, and the item that makes me the happiest. Nothing is better than applying a fresh coat of lip gloss to instantly look and feel better! I like all types of gloss, (cream, shimmer, sheer, etc.) so today I am sharing my top 5 faves of the moment.
Here they are in all their glory!
1. Dior Lip Oil
Now, technically this is a lip oil, but it feels just like a gloss to me. I love the packaging right down to the giant doe foot applicator. The formula is oh so smooth and non-sticky. Very sheer but does give a hint of pink to the lips.
2. Tower 28 Jelly Lip Gloss.
Like the Dior, this is another sheer formula, but has more color to it. This gloss is so smooth and non-sticky. It comes in a bunch of colors, but I love this hot pink one!
3. NARS Afterglow Gloss
This gloss is more of a cream formula, and is just the perfect pale pink shade. Like the others, it is very smooth, and this one is a teeny bit sticky, but it LASTS.
4. Sephora Glossed Lip Gloss
Ok, so this one is a shimmery one! This is a beautiful shade that is a purple blue shift and is so pretty on the lips. These glosses are so good and there is a huge color range. My girls were fighting over this one and asked me if I would buy each of them one too.
5. Pat McGrath Lust Gloss
I know this one looks scary in the tube, but OMG can Pat McGrath can do a shimmery gloss. This gloss gives the prettiest golden shimmer look to the lips, but in a sheer way; my lips still look pink when I wear it. These glosses are luxurious and feel so nice on the lips. No chunky glitter, just shimmer.
Here are swatches of all five:
That’s it for my favorites! What is your favorite lip gloss?
