MAC Plumful Lipstick Dupe

20130714-172844.jpg
Hi everyone! Today I have another MAC lipstick dupe! Plumful is a pretty, pinky-plum color. It is a Lustre finish, which is my favorite finish of MAC lipsticks, because they are sheer and very shiny. This is a darker lip color then I usually wear, but you can make this lipstick sheer by just applying a little bit, or you can build it up to make it darker.

I came across this Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in #463, Sassy Mauve. I thought that it looked similar to Plumful, so I swatched them, and they look pretty much the same!

As you can tell in the swatch, Plumful looks a tad more pink, and it is also shinier. On the lips, you cannot tell one bit, though! Here it is on my lips, MAC Plumful on the top, Revlon Super lustrous in Sassy Mauve on the bottom. I put a tiny bit of clear gloss over the Sassy Mauve, and they look identical!

These Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks can be found at any drugstore, and they probably have the biggest color selection of any other brand. Check them out next time you go to the drugstore! They are around $5, while MAC lipsticks are $15.

Friday Favorite: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation

20130710-150644.jpg

Hey guys! This week’s Friday Favorite is Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. Now, I am not the type of person to spend a lot of money on high end makeup products. Ok, maybe sometimes. But, it KILLED me to spend this much on a foundation, when there are so many drugstore options. I bought this foundation about a year ago, last summer. I bought it with some money I got for my birthday, and decided to splurge. I had heard a ton of reviews on it, and I decided to try it out.

20130710-151019.jpg

The product comes in a plastic bottle with a squeeze top. The consistency of this foundation is very liquid-y. It is a water based foundation, so it is really easy to blend. So last summer, when I bought this, I had the lady at the counter color match me, and she said I was in the shade 20 BEIGE, which I kind of already knew, because I had looked at the website for months deciding whether or not to buy this.

20130710-151237.jpg

Since I used this foundation last summer, I hadn’t been able to wear it until now, because it was too dark for me, but since now I have a tan, I started using it again. Before you apply it, make sure to shake it up. I apply it using my fingers…that is the best way because if you use a brush or a sponge, it will soak up all of the product because it is very runny. I use about a dime size amount, and dot it all over my face and blend it in.

20130710-151607.jpg

It has a really strong perfume scent, which doesn’t bother me, but if you are sensitive to scent, you wont like this. Once its all blended in, my face looks absolutely flawless. It doesn’t quite have full coverage, but it covers really well. I barely have to use any concealer on this and it just looks and feels so good. it doesn’t even feel like I have makeup on. It also contains SPF 15.

20130710-151346.jpg

I have tried a lot of foundations, and this is the best one I have found yet. It is $45, yes, but I have had it for a year now, and there is still a lot left. It is Chanel, and there is a reason its so expensive. Its cause its awesome and its totally worth the money.

The drugstore foundation that reminds me of this foundation is Loreal’s True Match Lumi foundation. That one is very runny, and seems to be water based also. It is very easy to blend, but still does not give the coverage that the Chanel does. It is a good foundation, but it doesn’t compare to this one. I dont know what is in this foundation, but it is amazing. I recommend this to everyone I know. I just notice such a difference when I wear this compared to other foundations. It lasts all day too. Its just magic.

Go on over to the Chanel counter the next time you’re at the mall and they will give you a sample. A warning though, you WILL want to buy this when you try it! But, just remember, it will last you forever!

Let me know if you try this out! Thanks for reading!

Top 5 Summer Lip Colors

20130710-143431.jpg

Hi guys! Today’s post is my top 5 favorite summer lip colors/glosses! I am loving wearing bright colors on my lips recently and I hope you guys like these!

1. Maybelline Colorsensational Pink Collection Lipstick in Make Me Pink ($6, drugstores)

20130710-143559.jpg

Maybelline just released this new collection, and all of the shades are gorgeous! I picked up this one in Make Me Pink, and it is such a pretty pink color, and it has a hint of purple to it. These lipsticks are very moisturizing and have good lasting power.

2. Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake ($5, drugstores)

20130710-143931.jpg

These Revlon Lip Butters are very moisturizing and are more like a balm. They are very sheer, and you have to build up the color to make it as opaque as this swatch. This is a blue based pink color that is very shiny and great for summer.

3. Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Flamingo Pose ($6, drugstores)

20130710-144308.jpg

I have been loving Milani lately! I love their blushes, and this line of lipsticks is sooo pretty! The gold packaging is fab, and the colors are really nice. This color here is picking up really orange on camera, but in person it is the perfect pink-y orange coral. It is very opaque, so I use a very light hand and sheer this color out so it is wearable. These lipsticks smell like watermelon and are very soft.

4. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish ($7, drugstores)

20130710-144713.jpg

I own 5 of these balm stains, and I love them. They are like a tinted lip balm, but you can build up the color and they will stain your lips. This color here is very similar to the Revlon Lip Butter I mentioned, but this one has more purple to it and it is a stain, so it wears longer. These smell minty and the packaging is like a twist-up crayon.

5. MAC Lipglass in Pink Lemonade ($15, MAC stores)

20130710-145044.jpg

I had to mention a lipgloss! This is the first lipgloss I ever bought from MAC. It is a pretty coral color that can be worn alone, or with just about any pink lipstick. It has that signature vanilla scent that all of the MAC lipsticks have, and its not sticky.

Hope you guys liked this post, let me know what lip colors yall have been loving for the summertime in the comments section! Have a great day, and thanks for reading!

Friday Favorite – Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink

20130702-125207.jpg
Hey Guys, HAPPY FRIDAY! Hope everyone had a great week. Today’s Friday Favorite is Milani’s Baked Blush in Dolce Pink!

20130702-125459.jpg

This blush is so freakin pretty! It is this beautiful pink color swirled with a golden shimmer. I have been trying to get my hands on these blushes for so long, why are they so hard to find?! The only place around me that carries them is Wal Mart, but I think CVS carries them too. Anyway, Wal Mart never had them stocked, I would check every time, and finally a couple of days ago, I checked and they had every color except Luminoso, which is the one I really wanted.

Honestly, I want all of them. I really couldn’t decide which one to get. I really like pink, so I decided to go with this one. First off, the packaging is pretty cute, I like the flip top lid. It also can flip up on the bottom, and it has a mirror and a little brush under there.

20130702-130203.jpg

I paid $6.97 for this blush, and I think that’s a pretty good deal for a blush this good. It is so pigmented, you only need a little on your brush. It has a golden shimmer that gives a pretty glow to the cheeks, and you don’t even need to use a highlight!

Have you guys tried these blushes? What do you all think of them?

Thanks for reading, have a great weekend! 🙂

Review: NEW Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation Stick

20130702-102741.jpg

Hi Guys! Today I have a foundation review for you! I have been searching for this new Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation Stick, and I found it yesterday at Wal Mart. I was super excited to try this foundation, I figured that since it was in a stick, it would be easy to apply.

20130702-103055.jpg

There were 10 shades to choose from, I picked the third lightest shade, 120. I was going to pick 115, but that shade leans more warm toned, and I usually wear cooler toned foundations.

20130702-103229.jpg

20130702-103242.jpg

This foundation was marked $6.94, but there was a $2 off peely coupon on it, so I only paid $4.94! What a deal. Now, the first thing I noticed when I opened it up was that they don’t give you much product. This is a picture of it rolled up all the way.

20130702-103439.jpg
Now, onto the review. It has a layer of foundation on the outside, but on the inside it is supposed to be a core of some type of anti shine powder that will keep your face matte. I have dry skin, so I don’t ever get oily. If you have oily skin, I’m not sure that this would be a great foundation for you, because since it is a cream, it gives a dewy finish already.

I applied this foundation using a flat top stippling brush. I swiped the stick directly onto my skin in stripes, and blended it out with my brush. I was surprised at how easy this was to blend, and the color matched my skin perfect. I would say that it gives medium coverage, I only needed to use concealer under my eyes with this. I did not set this with a powder, because I thought it gave a nice finish. It lasted pretty much all day, I wore it for 9 hours.

20130702-104149.jpg

Overall, this is a great foundation. I love how it is a stick, it’s easy to travel with, it’s not messy, and you can just toss it in your bag. It doesn’t offer full coverage though, so if you are a full coverage gal, or you tend to get oily, I would probably skip this one. For me, it worked good, and I will continue to use it!

Hope you guys enjoyed this review, and let my know if you try it!

Thanks for reading! 🙂
