Life Changing PEEL OFF Base Coat

If you have ever painted your nails with solid glitter polish, YOU KNOW it’s going to be a pain to get off. You could try acetone, scraping the nails, the foil method…or you could just use a PEEL OFF BASE COAT, peel your glitter off in two seconds and be good to go. Sounds too good to be true, so I wanted to test it out.

This is the UNT Ready For Takeoff Peel Off Base Coat. I ordered this product from Amazon, but it shipped from China, so I had to wait a little while to receive it. This product has great reviews, and wasn’t too expensive at $13.

I started off with clean nails and made sure to swipe each nail with acetone to get rid of any oils on my nails. I applied one coat of the base coat to each nail and let it dry. It smelled a little bit different than regular nail polish, kind of like a glue smell. It also felt cold going on the nails. It was easy to apply.

Next, I took one of my favorite glitter polishes, the Nails Inc Polish in Rocket Fuel, a silver holographic glitter, and applied two coats.

After that dried, I applied my topcoat. I used the Essie Gel Couture top coat, but any top coat will work.

Finished product is nice and shiny.

Now, for the moment we’ve been waiting for…does it peel off?

I used a little manicure stick, (but you can also just use your nail on the other hand) and gently peeled it off from left to right.

Right hand.

Left hand.

Is this gross?

SO EASY! SO QUICK! Doesn’t leave any residue on my nails and doesn’t damage them by peeling. This stuff is amazing! No more scraping to get the glitter off, thank goodness.

Have you tried this?

Current Beauty Faves

Hello friends! I hope you are having a good spring! I love spring, but I love summer even more, and can’t wait for it. I have a few fashion posts coming up, but today I am sharing my current favorite beauty products of the moment (since I missed March Faves) 🙂

First up is this Wet N Wild Pro Flat Contouring Brush. I have been wanting a densely packed flat top narrow brush like this for awhile, and this is exactly what I had in mind. It’s so pretty with the rose gold pointed handle (fancy), and it feels nice and soft. I can use this for applying my bronzer or contour powder. It gets right under my cheekbones and really nicely blends the powder. Great price too!

Next is a pencil liner, this is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Liner in Black. I am sure that I have talked about this liner before, but it’s pretty much my favorite pencil liner out there (RIP Estee Edit). It is super black and creamy, and it stays put all day, even in the waterline. AND it’s from the drugstore.

Lastly for makeup is a super bougie shadow, this Burberry single in Nude 002. This is probably the most beautiful shadow that I own, hands down. It’s a taupe/silver/brownish gold…I don’t even know how to describe it but it is metallic and sparkly and wonderful. Just go swatch it. This pic doesn’t even do it justice.

For skincare, I have gone back to using Philosophy’s Help Me Retinol Treatment every night, and I just love how this makes my skin look in the morning! It really smoothes the skin, lessens the appearance of pores, and my dark circles. It does dry me out a little bit, so I just use extra moisturizer in the morning.

Another skincare product that I can’t do life without is this Dr. Jart SPF 30. I love this lightweight sunscreen, and I use it every day under my makeup. It doesn’t have a strong smell, doesn’t feel greasy, and doesn’t break me out. I’m sticking w you, Dr.

Last thing for skin are these random Eye Patches that I found on Amazon. I figured i would give these a try because you get 60 for like, $5! They have collagen, vitamin e, and give a lot of hydration to the under eye area. They really reduce puffiness and make my eyes feel nice. Love these little babies.

Lastly, for my hair, is the Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry Cream. I apply a little bit of this to my hair before blowdrying, and it makes my hair so smooth and soft. It’s good to use a cream or some type of serum in your hair prior to blowdrying because it protects from heat and really smoothes after you’re done drying. This is a good one! It smells really nice too.

That’s it for the faves! …and I promise to blog more 🙂

At Home Pedicure | How To Get Smooth Soft Feet

Are you one of those people who is always barefoot? Well, I am…I don’t like wearing shoes, I especially don’t like wearing socks, and I can’t be bothered with slippers. I just want my feet to be free!

So yeah, my feet are dry and I have calluses, but I’m not about to go to a nail salon to take care of it. I don’t like nail salons, and I am perfectly capable of doing my own feet.

So, here is how I DIY.

1. Epsom Salt Foot Soak

I fill up my tub just a little bit and add some of this Dr. Teals Foaming Bath. This has Epsom salts and essential oils and makes my feet feel very nice. It smells really good, and is pretty cheap. They have a whole bunch of kinds, but I am really liking this Pink Himalayan Sea Salt kind.

I just sit on the edge of my tub and soak my feet for around 20-30 minutes. I will just relax and read for awhile until I’m tired of sitting there.

2. Pumice

I take one foot out at a time and use a pumice stone on the bottoms of my feet while they are still wet. This is very rough, so be careful to not do it too hard or too long. It will do a really good job of getting rid of dead skin. I will then put that foot back into the tub, and do the other one.

3. File

The next thing I do is take my feet out of the water and dry them off. I use a foot file to smooth the calluses and dry patches. This step really works to make my feet soft again. Don’t do this for too long, or else you’ll have sore feet.

4. File Nails and Paint

After filing, I will grab a nail file and clippers and start working on my toes. I will then paint them and let them dry. I always choose hot pink for my toes 🙂

5. Moisturize

After the polish is dry, I will slather on a really thick lotion, like this Aveeno Skin Relief Overnight Cream. I will then put on some nice thick socks to hold the moisture in and keep the lotion on all night.

When I wake up in the morning, I will have smooth soft feet!

Hope you liked this post and found it helpful 🙂

ALL the Pinky Neutral Nails

Baby pink nails are a timeless classic; they go with everything, and always look polished and put together. I love them because even if they chip a little bit, you can’t really tell. Most of these go on sheer, but you can build them up for a full coverage look, or leave them sheer for a more natural look.

Here are my favorite baby pink colors.

I hope you aren’t saying these all look the same (lol) because they definitely aren’t!

The two Essie colors that I have here are like “white pinks”, they are very very light (almost white), and the most sophisticated and flattering, IMO.

Essie Ballet Slippers is very very sheer. I like to apply just two coats and let my natural nails peek through. Love this one.

This one is from the Gel Couture line (LOVE) and it’s called Matter of Fiction. This is more opaque than Ballet Slippers – two coats will give you full opacity!

Next are the more neutrally pinks. These pinks have a bit of gray to them.

This is OPI Put It In Neutral. This is a very sheer formula, and looks so natural on the nails. This is like a “your nails but better” color. It has a hint of beige to it.

This one, CND Vinylux In Cake Pop is more opaque, but is still on the neutral side. This line of nail polish is one of my favorites; the colors really do last a week or more!

The last color is the “pinkiest”. This is Zoya Dot. Also sheer (but buildable), this is a true petal pink color that is so pretty and chic on the nails.

So, those are my favorite baby pinks! Are you loving this nail trend? What is your favorite neutral color to wear on your nails?

Thanks for reading 🙂

January FAVES

Good morning! I can’t believe it’s already the end of January! I am excited to share some favorites with you today that I have been loving all month long.

Let’s start with makeup.

I bought this blush awhile ago, but I just recently pulled it out and started using it again. This is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush. This blush is beautiful. It is a rosy pink color mixed with a champagne colored highlight. It is so pretty on the cheeks and gives a glow without being shimmery.

Next was a Christmas present from my 3 year old daughter Ashley. My husband says she HAD to grab this Chanel lipstick and get it for me while they were Christmas shopping at Nordstrom. I have never owned a Chanel lipstick before, but, ASHLEY DID GOOD. He says she picked the color and everything. He had no say. This is the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in 93 Intime.

Literally THE PERFECT sheer moisturizing nude color. I’ve got a review for this coming up soon, so stay tuned 🙂

Next, a few nail faves. First, this OPI nail color in Put It In Neutral.

I’ve been loving this sheer, neutral pink color. Goes with everything, and looks so classy and chic.

Another nail fave is this cuticle oil pen I picked up at my local grocery store – but I found it on amazon HERE. This is the Bliss KISS Simply Pure Cuticle Nail Oil Pen. This is a twist up pen that dispenses cuticle oil! I use this in the car while I am waiting for my daughter in the parent pick up line, and it really has softened my cuticles and made my nails look so good! It feels so nourishing and doesn’t feel greasy.

Next, is a skincare item I have talked about a ton. This is one of my favorite deep pore cleansing masks, the Sephora Collection Purifying and Mattifying Mud Mask. I love to use this mask when my skin feels oily or I am breaking out. It clears the pores and makes my face feel super clean, but not dry.

Lastly is a haircare item, the Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry Cream. I haven’t been curling my hair lately like I usually do, I’ve just been wearing it straight. I like to apply this cream before I blow dry it, and it smoothes my hair and helps a lot with frizz. It also protects against heat and makes my hair feel super soft.

That’s it for the faves! What have you been loving this month?
