October Beauty Faves

I’m a little late on this, but still thought I would share a few things that I have been using a lot in my beauty routine!

For Halloween this year, I dressed up as Cher, and I researched a lot of makeup looks on YouTube to get her iconic look. The tutorial that I ended up using used a brown lip liner and a red gloss for the lips. I loved it so much that I wore it before Halloween and after!

I’ve been using MUFE Anywhere Caffeine Liner, and Tower 28 Gloss in XOXO. I had both of these in my collection, but never thought to wear them together! They look so pretty and neutral together. The liner lasts and the gloss is the perfect formula and not sticky!

I love the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, BUT recently I’ve been reaching for this Saie Highlight in Starglow. This says it is a highlight, but I use it just like Flawless Filter, underneath my makeup.

The color of this is lighter than my Flawless Filter, and is not as heavy. It feels so dewy and light on my skin and doesn’t add shimmer or glitter, just GLOW. My skin is naturally dry and kind of dull, so adding this before my makeup really looks nice.

I found the perfect smudge brush for my eyes. I love to use powder for eyeliner and also smoke out my under eye with shadow for a soft look.

This ELF Concealer Brush is the perfect size. It is domed and so small, perfect for getting above the lashline and also underneath my bottom lashes. It was cheap ($2!) and exactly what I’ve been looking for.

This is the best smelling shampoo ever. I got a sample bottle of this a while ago, and I loved it so much I purchased the big bottle. This is the Moroccan Oil Hydrating Shampoo. The scent is spicy amber and floral, and it lingers all day! The shampoo really deep cleans, but doesn’t strip and is very moisturizing on the hair. My hair is so soft and shiny when I use it.

That’s all for my recent faves! What have you been loving lately? Let me know if you’d like an in-depth review on anything shown here.

September Beauty Favorites!

September has come and gone, and I have a few beauty favorites to share with you that I have been loving all month long!

Let’s start with the best part, the makeup!

Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fussy

The Fenty Gloss Bomb in the shade Fussy has been my jam for a few weeks now. I used to own the shade Fenty Glow, but I think I like this shade more, as it is lighter and more pink. This is a beautiful shimmery pink but still pretty neutral. Here’s a swatch.

The applicator is a huge doe foot which makes it so easy to apply. It smells like fruity candy, and is just the right formula. Not too sticky. Love it!

Rare Beauty Highlight in Enchant

I have really been into cream and liquid cheek products lately, and my go-to highlight has been this one by Rare Beauty. This is a gorgeous light pinky champagne color that is so so pretty. Here’s a swatch of this one!

It also has a very large doe foot applicator, and so one little dab goes a long way. I use this on top of my cheekbones and it looks so pretty and glowy.

Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press

This is an oldie but goodie, but I’m not sure I’ve ever talked about it on here. This is the Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press, which is a really nice flexible hold hairspray that I like to use BEFORE I curl my hair. I dry my hair, and then as I am curling, I spray each section with this and brush it through. It protects my hair from heat damage and makes my curls last until my next wash. It works so good, and doesn’t give a crunchy or sticky feel.

Sol De Janiero Brazilian Crush Cheirosa Mist

Next up is a fragrance! I’m not really that into fragrances, but I really liked the packaging of this and I wanted to try it. This is the Sol De Janiero Brazilian Crush Cheirosa Mist. It has a plastic nozzle kind of like the Bath and Body Works Mists, and is a really pretty pink color. It looks good on my vanity. Haha. The smell is VERY similar to Ariana Grande’s Cloud, but not as sweet. The notes are jasmine, vanilla, and dragonfruit. It is very floral, and the scent lasts so long, I can even smell it the next day after just spraying it once. I’ve been using it every day!

Kate Somerville Exfolikate

Lastly, a skin product! The Kate Somerville Exfolikate. This is a physical exfoliating product that I use once a week. I think I tried this out a long time ago, but I’m not sure. This is a green colored cream that smells minty and it has tiny scrubbers in it. I apply it after washing my face, scrub it around, and leave it for two minutes before rinsing it off. It does tingle, so I’m not sure that it would be good for sensitive skin, but it doesn’t bother me. My skin is SO SOFT and feels so clean after using it. It is very pricey, so I recommend getting the smaller size to try it out first.

That’s it for my September Faves! Let my know if you would like an in-depth review on anything shown here.

August Beauty Faves!

It is the end of August, and I have a bunch of beauty faves for you! I have a hair fave, a few skincare faves, and an accidental NARS dupe! Let’s get into it.

First off, the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer. This is a product that you spray into the hair when it is wet, and it protects your hair from heat, and really softens the hair. It also de-frizzes, and protects hair from breakage. The smell of this is so good, it is sweet and kind of smells like candy, but not very strong. It is a nice smell that isn’t overpowering. I love this because my hair is so so soft when I use it. It is also a big bottle that lasts a long time. I love this.

Next up, the Garnier Soothing Facial Mist. This spray is actually soothing and smells like roses. I love to spray this on all the time throughout the day. It is so refreshing in the summer and just feels so good. It is not a setting spray, but will take away the powdery makeup look. It also says it is good for sensitive skin!

For skin, I have been using this Topicals Faded Brightening and Clearing Serum. This is for dark spots and uneven skin tone, which I definitely have. I have some dark sun spots and freckles underneath my eyes that I try to lighten, and I have been noticing that they are starting to lighten! This product doesn’t smell good, but the smell dissipates after awhile and I don’t mind it because of how well it is working for me. I use it daily.

I’ve got two lippie faves this month, and while I was swatching them, I noticed that they are verrrry similar. I love these Nars Afterglow Balms! This shade is Dolce Vita and is a very shiny, sheer, dusty rose color. It’s really good for a my-lips-but-better look. It is moisturizing and so nice!

Next to it is this L’Oréal Glow Paradise balm in Rose Mirage. These two products are exactly the same! Both are a dusty rose neutral color, and both are so shiny and moisturizing! I can’t believe how similar they are. This one is about $20 less than the NARS one.

Lastly, the Milk Makeup Highlight Stick in Lit. I love this champagne gold highlight, and I love that it is a stick! It goes on so smooth, doesn’t accentuate texture, and is just so easy. I like to put this in the inner corner of my eyes, and on top of my cheekbones. It’s gorg!

Here are the swatches.

Dolce Vita, Rose Mirage, Lit

See how similar the colors are?! I’d go for the L’Oréal one for sure.

I hope you liked these favorites!

What have you been loving this month?

xx Amy

A Lil Sephora Haul

My birthday was a few weeks ago, and I got a couple of gift cards! Of course, I couldn’t wait to go shopping! Here is what I picked up.

Kosas Wet Lip Oil Plumping Gloss in Fruitjuice

This is a lip oil that I have been wanting to try. The packaging is so cute and it smells really good. I wanted to try the shade fruitjuice, which is described as a neutral magenta. Here’s a swatch! It looks like a very sheer wash of berry on my lips. So gorg.

It Cosmetics CC Cream in the shade Fair Light

I have used this before, and I loved it. When I used it, there was a limited shade range and I couldn’t find a color to suit me. I decided to try this again because I saw more shades were added. I love that this has SPF 50, and I love the packaging with the pump. The finish is so nice too. Can’t wait to use this again.

Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask

This is my favorite hair mask. It smells glorious and it leaves my hair so soft and manageable. Every Amika product I have ever tried I have loved. I’m excited to have this again.

The Ordinary Lash and Brow Serum

This is a very affordable lash serum that I am so excited to try. I have previously used Revitalash and absolutely loved it, but it was very expensive. I am hoping to get the same results with this one!

Burberry Her Rollerball

I don’t ever buy full size perfume because I never use it all. I’m just not that into perfume. I do love to buy these rollerballs because I can put them in my purse. This scent smells so good- very fruity with jasmine, musk, and amber. It is very similar to Ariana Grande’s Cloud but more sophisticated.

Gisou Honey Infused Leave in Conditioner

This was a little freebie I chose. I have really been curious about this brand, the packaging is so cute and their products have great reviews, especially the hair oil. I love to use leave in treatments, so I’m excited to try this!

That’s everything I picked up from Sephora! Have you tried any of these products?

Products I Regret Buying

This doesn’t happen often! I usually do research on things before I buy them, but sometimes, they just don’t turn out to be what I expected.

Let me know if I am maybe using these wrong because people seem to love them!

Anyway, here they are, the products I do not like and regret purchasing.

First up, the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Sweet Candy.

So, first off. I love the color and packaging. You get a ton of product, and the smell is amazing, like gummy bears. BUT, I just don’t like sticking my finger in there and applying it to my lips that way. I just don’t. I prefer a lip balm in a stick form. But that was my mistake, I clearly knew it was in a tub when I bought it.

The thing is, it isn’t moisturizing! I honestly think it makes my lips chapped. For a mask, it’s very thin and doesn’t stay on long at all. It just wasn’t it for me. I prefer my Burt’s Bees over this.

Ugh. This Ilia Powder.

This stuff is very pricey, but it does come in a large tub. It is a translucent powder that is supposed to give a soft focus blurring effect. For me, it doesn’t blur. What it does do is give me a huge white cast no matter how little I apply. It really leaves my skin so incredibly dry, and doesn’t give me a skin like finish.

I also really don’t like loose powder, but thought I would give it a go because of all of the positive reviews. I prefer the Hourglass pressed powders or the BM Pressed Mineral Veil. Those blur and don’t leave a white cast.

Next up, the NARS Creamy Concealer.

Years ago, I loved this concealer; it was my go to. I recently purchased it again because I remembered how much I used to love it! I’m not sure if the formula has changed or what, but this is a lot thicker and drier than I remember – and this is coming from a Tarte Shape Tape girl. I was hoping for a change from the shape tape, something lighter and with a hydrating finish. It was just way too drying.

A nail polish flop, OPI Bubble Bath.

The more I wear this nail color, the more I don’t like it. Unlike other pale pink colors that I own, this color really leans…warm? It has kind of a orange-tan look to it rather than a pale pink. I just don’t like this, and I regret buying it since I never reach for it.

Lastly, this Ordinary mask.

I don’t have sensitive skin, but this stuff BURNS. I get that it is a peeling exfoliant, but I can’t even leave it on for a full minute because it hurts so bad! I have read such great reviews on it, and I think the problem is that I have dry skin. It has such good ingredients and I love exfoliators, so I was sad this didn’t work out!

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? Let me know!
