Current Beauty Faves

Hello friends! I hope you are having a good spring! I love spring, but I love summer even more, and can’t wait for it. I have a few fashion posts coming up, but today I am sharing my current favorite beauty products of the moment (since I missed March Faves) 🙂

First up is this Wet N Wild Pro Flat Contouring Brush. I have been wanting a densely packed flat top narrow brush like this for awhile, and this is exactly what I had in mind. It’s so pretty with the rose gold pointed handle (fancy), and it feels nice and soft. I can use this for applying my bronzer or contour powder. It gets right under my cheekbones and really nicely blends the powder. Great price too!

Next is a pencil liner, this is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Liner in Black. I am sure that I have talked about this liner before, but it’s pretty much my favorite pencil liner out there (RIP Estee Edit). It is super black and creamy, and it stays put all day, even in the waterline. AND it’s from the drugstore.

Lastly for makeup is a super bougie shadow, this Burberry single in Nude 002. This is probably the most beautiful shadow that I own, hands down. It’s a taupe/silver/brownish gold…I don’t even know how to describe it but it is metallic and sparkly and wonderful. Just go swatch it. This pic doesn’t even do it justice.

For skincare, I have gone back to using Philosophy’s Help Me Retinol Treatment every night, and I just love how this makes my skin look in the morning! It really smoothes the skin, lessens the appearance of pores, and my dark circles. It does dry me out a little bit, so I just use extra moisturizer in the morning.

Another skincare product that I can’t do life without is this Dr. Jart SPF 30. I love this lightweight sunscreen, and I use it every day under my makeup. It doesn’t have a strong smell, doesn’t feel greasy, and doesn’t break me out. I’m sticking w you, Dr.

Last thing for skin are these random Eye Patches that I found on Amazon. I figured i would give these a try because you get 60 for like, $5! They have collagen, vitamin e, and give a lot of hydration to the under eye area. They really reduce puffiness and make my eyes feel nice. Love these little babies.

Lastly, for my hair, is the Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry Cream. I apply a little bit of this to my hair before blowdrying, and it makes my hair so smooth and soft. It’s good to use a cream or some type of serum in your hair prior to blowdrying because it protects from heat and really smoothes after you’re done drying. This is a good one! It smells really nice too.

That’s it for the faves! …and I promise to blog more 🙂

At Home Pedicure | How To Get Smooth Soft Feet

Are you one of those people who is always barefoot? Well, I am…I don’t like wearing shoes, I especially don’t like wearing socks, and I can’t be bothered with slippers. I just want my feet to be free!

So yeah, my feet are dry and I have calluses, but I’m not about to go to a nail salon to take care of it. I don’t like nail salons, and I am perfectly capable of doing my own feet.

So, here is how I DIY.

1. Epsom Salt Foot Soak

I fill up my tub just a little bit and add some of this Dr. Teals Foaming Bath. This has Epsom salts and essential oils and makes my feet feel very nice. It smells really good, and is pretty cheap. They have a whole bunch of kinds, but I am really liking this Pink Himalayan Sea Salt kind.

I just sit on the edge of my tub and soak my feet for around 20-30 minutes. I will just relax and read for awhile until I’m tired of sitting there.

2. Pumice

I take one foot out at a time and use a pumice stone on the bottoms of my feet while they are still wet. This is very rough, so be careful to not do it too hard or too long. It will do a really good job of getting rid of dead skin. I will then put that foot back into the tub, and do the other one.

3. File

The next thing I do is take my feet out of the water and dry them off. I use a foot file to smooth the calluses and dry patches. This step really works to make my feet soft again. Don’t do this for too long, or else you’ll have sore feet.

4. File Nails and Paint

After filing, I will grab a nail file and clippers and start working on my toes. I will then paint them and let them dry. I always choose hot pink for my toes 🙂

5. Moisturize

After the polish is dry, I will slather on a really thick lotion, like this Aveeno Skin Relief Overnight Cream. I will then put on some nice thick socks to hold the moisture in and keep the lotion on all night.

When I wake up in the morning, I will have smooth soft feet!

Hope you liked this post and found it helpful 🙂

Feb FAVES

Hello! I am back with a favorites post, and I really love making these posts. I rediscovered an old face wash and palette, and have been trying out some new things as well. Let’s get into it!

So first off, I don’t know what made me try this mascara, but I’m kinda regretting it because of the price. This is the YSL Faux Cils Babydoll Mascara. I LOVE this mascara so much. It makes my lashes SO VOLUMINOUS. It holds the curl all day, doesn’t flake, and when I’m applying it, it never clumps no matter how many coats I pack on. I hate that I like this because it’s freakin $32.

Next for makeup, this palette that I was obsessed with back in the day (last year, lol).

This is the Marc Jacobs Style Eye Palette in Lolita. This particular palette is d/c, but there are other colors that look beautiful. I love the packaging of this and how small and compact it is. The shadows are amazing and last really well. I’ve been wearing this every day.

I used to use this face wash ERRDAY and I’m not really sure why I stopped. This is Philosophy’s Purity Cleanser. I dug this out from my cabinet and have started using it again, and my skin looks so good! It is a very gentle cleanser and works really well with my Clarisonic. It doesn’t dry out my skin or leave it feeling tight.

Next, a teeeny tiny little sample I got when I placed an order awhile ago, and it is the Living Proof Restore Smooth Blowout Concentrate. I don’t know how this is still half full, cause I’ve used it pretty much every time I’ve blowdried this month. Since it’s a concentrate, I use two pumps (don’t use any more than that), which seems like a tiny amount for my long and thick hair. It’s like a slippery concentrated oil that not only softens the hair, but helps it dry quicker! It gives me a nice and straight blow dry. I’m definitely going to be purchasing this when I run out.

After seeing so many commercials about this, I had to pick it up a few weeks ago at target. This is a new hairspray from TRESemme, it’s the Compressed Micro Mist. There are four different hold levels, but I went for the strongest, because it’s who I am, and I like some stiff hair. Haha, it actually doesn’t leave my hair stiff at all, and I really love it! The smell is really nice, and it’s a super fine mist, so no big clumps of hairspray.

Lastly, and also from Target, the new Mrs. Meyers Multi Surface Spray spring scents are out! I LOVE these, and use them everyday. I use them to clean anything and everything, and this particular one, Peony, leaves my house smelling so good. It smells like a fresh field of flowers, and makes my countertops sparkle. I actually look forward to cleaning because I love this so much.

That’s it for the faves! Hope you enjoyed them.

GLOSSIER | First Impressions

Hello! I recently placed an order at Glossier, a makeup/skincare brand that I have been wanting to try for awhile. This brand is known for their “natural” type makeup, and their very instagrammable packaging. I had heard numerous reviews on the Boy Brow and Balm Dot Com, and after seeing my cousin Katie wearing a sheer matte red from them that looked so pretty on her the other night- I knew I had to place my order!

Everything came in this little pink bubble wrap pouch. Super cute. It also came with stickers! Who doesn’t love stickers? I already stuck these onto the inside of my sentence-a-day journal.

Everything came in little boxes. I ordered four products, the Boy Brow, Haloscope Highlight, Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick, and Balm Dot Com. They even sent a sample of the Milky Jelly Cleanser.

First off, I really like the packaging. It’s hip and minimalistic. I also love the holographic on the Balm Dot Com.

Glossier’s #1 bestseller is the Boy Brow. This retails for $16, comes in four shades (clear, blonde, brown, and black), and I picked up the brown one. I have tried products similar to this before (Benefit Gimme Brow, Essence Make Me Brow), and I really like them! When it comes to brows, I like them very natural, so this product is perfect. It’s like a little mascara and you just brush it through your brows. It thickens the brows, adds a little bit of color and holds them in place.

Next up, the Haloscope Dew Effect Highlight Stick. This retails for $22, and comes in three colors, topaz (bronzey), quartz (champagney), and moonstone (opalescent glaze). Topaz looked too dark, Moonstone looked too clear, so I went with Quartz, which is so pretty and pearlescent. I love products in stick form like this, and this one is unique because the product is around a moisturizing core, and is supposed to give a pretty glow without glitter or shimmer.

I purchased the next product because of Katie, it is the Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick. This retails for $18, and comes in 6 different colors. After Katie told me it was a “Sheer Matte” formula, I was like, I HAVE TO HAVE THAT. I picked it up in the color Zip, which is the same color she had on, and it gives the look of a red stain on the lips. I LOVE that it’s matte, and still red, but not an in-your-face red. Sometimes you just want a little red. Like you just ate a cherry popsicle.

You really can’t tell from the swatch, but this is sooo pretty and chock full of iridescent shimmer.

Lastly, a product I’ve really been wanting to try, the Balm Dot Com. This retails for $12 and comes in 6 different colors/flavors. I knew I wanted the Birthday one, because I have heard it smells AMAZING, and is a collaboration with Milk Bar and their famous birthday cake. I love the squeezey tube packaging. The smell of this is just like a birthday cake, and I LOVE IT. It’s not really a fake smell either, it smells just like the real thing. It is very thick, and comes out whitish clear with shimmer. It is really pretty.

I am really happy with this order, and think I will love everything!

Have you tried Glossier?

Thanks for reading! xx

January FAVES

Good morning! I can’t believe it’s already the end of January! I am excited to share some favorites with you today that I have been loving all month long.

Let’s start with makeup.

I bought this blush awhile ago, but I just recently pulled it out and started using it again. This is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush. This blush is beautiful. It is a rosy pink color mixed with a champagne colored highlight. It is so pretty on the cheeks and gives a glow without being shimmery.

Next was a Christmas present from my 3 year old daughter Ashley. My husband says she HAD to grab this Chanel lipstick and get it for me while they were Christmas shopping at Nordstrom. I have never owned a Chanel lipstick before, but, ASHLEY DID GOOD. He says she picked the color and everything. He had no say. This is the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in 93 Intime.

Literally THE PERFECT sheer moisturizing nude color. I’ve got a review for this coming up soon, so stay tuned 🙂

Next, a few nail faves. First, this OPI nail color in Put It In Neutral.

I’ve been loving this sheer, neutral pink color. Goes with everything, and looks so classy and chic.

Another nail fave is this cuticle oil pen I picked up at my local grocery store – but I found it on amazon HERE. This is the Bliss KISS Simply Pure Cuticle Nail Oil Pen. This is a twist up pen that dispenses cuticle oil! I use this in the car while I am waiting for my daughter in the parent pick up line, and it really has softened my cuticles and made my nails look so good! It feels so nourishing and doesn’t feel greasy.

Next, is a skincare item I have talked about a ton. This is one of my favorite deep pore cleansing masks, the Sephora Collection Purifying and Mattifying Mud Mask. I love to use this mask when my skin feels oily or I am breaking out. It clears the pores and makes my face feel super clean, but not dry.

Lastly is a haircare item, the Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry Cream. I haven’t been curling my hair lately like I usually do, I’ve just been wearing it straight. I like to apply this cream before I blow dry it, and it smoothes my hair and helps a lot with frizz. It also protects against heat and makes my hair feel super soft.

That’s it for the faves! What have you been loving this month?
