Current Favorite SKINCARE Products

Hi everyone! Hope y’all are having a good week so far. Today I am going to be sharing some of my current skin care product favorites. Taking care of you skin is very important, and the earlier you start, the better!

  • Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser – I keep this cleanser in my shower, and I use this every single morning. It smells really fresh, and it makes your skin feel really clean and soft without drying it out.
  • Clarisonic Mia and Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser
    – I use these two together every night, sometimes I will just use the cleanser without the Clarisonic though. I use the Clarisonic to get a really deep, exfoliating clean. You don’t have to use this cleanser with the Clarisonic; you can use any cleanser you’d like. I really like to buy this cleanser because it’s really nice, it smells so good and it foams up really nicely with the Clarisonic.

  • St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub – I LOVE this scrub. I have been using this for years and years, and I just love to use it every now and then as a treat. You only need a little bit, and it’s so refreshing and cleans your pores really well. It also helps prevent and treat breakouts.

  • Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer – I use this moisturizer every morning before I do my makeup. The smell is fresh, and it has SPF 30 to protect your skin. I go through this so fast because I also use it in combination with MAC Pro Longwear Concealer to create my own tinted moisturizer, which I also wear almost every single day. So I actually put two layers of this on my face every morning. It doesn’t break me out, and it keeps my skin moisturized without the greasy feeling. I love it.
  • Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins – This is the night cream that I have been using lately, and I really like it! It is very thick, so a little bit goes a long way. It smells like citrus, and in the morning when I wake up, my skin is so soft and moisturized. It also does not leave your skin feeling greasy, it just feels really good and hydrating.

  • Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream – I use this as my daytime and nighttime eye cream. It has a little bit of pigment to it, so it helps with dark circles. I have only been using this cream for about a month or so, so I don’t know if it has actually helped with brightening my dark circles, but we shall see. This cream takes a long time to sink in to your undereye area, which I like. I noticed that even when I forget to use this, my under eye area is still soft and moisturized.

Ok, so that’s it for my current SKINCARE favorites! Have you used any of these products? What are some of your favorite products to use on your skin?

    Thanks for reading!

  • Empties (Products I’ve Used Up) 2/14

Hi friends! Y’all ready to see some trash? Today I am going to show you the products I have used up in the past couple of months. I’m going to let you know what I thought of them, and if I would re-purchase or try them again!

Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Fortifying Shampoo – This shampoo has been featured in a couple of my previous posts. I use this as a clarifying shampoo once a week to get rid of any buildup in my hair. It leaves your hair squeaky clean, it’s cheap, and it smells like green apples!
    Re-purchase? YES

Herbal Essences Happy Go Lather Body Wash with Rose Extract – I bought this because I LOVE the smell of the Herbal Essences hair products. This body wash smells just like them, and the smell lingers on your body all day.
    Re-purchase? YES

Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Dry Shampoo – This has also been featured in a couple of my previous posts. This is my favorite dry shampoo. It leaves your hair clean, volumized, and smelling good!
    Re-purchase? YES

It’s A 10 Miracle Leave In Product – This stuff is amazing. It does 10 different things for your hair, (heat protectant, conditions, detangles…etc) and it smells soo good! I have purchased the bigger size already.
    Re-purchase? YES

Almay Intense i-Color Eyeliner, Brown Topaz – This eyeliner is a bronze colored retractable pencil liner. It was a very pretty color and lasted long, but the texture was pretty hard and it was impossible to sharpen to a fine point.
    Re-purchase? NO

MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash – I got this as a sample at MAC with my order, and I really did not like the smell of it. I am really picky about mascara, and this one was a flop. It did nothing for my lashes and wouldn’t hold the curl.
    Re-purchase? NO

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Rocket Mascara – This will be in every empties post. Lol. This is the best mascara of life, and I’ve said it many times. Volumizing, lengthening, holds a curl…etc. I have an embarrassing amount of unopened ones stashed away. If they ever stop making this, I will cry. Haha
    Re-purchase? YES

Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara – Well, Elizabeth…it ain’t that big. I used this mascara once, and in my empties bin it went. This did nothing for my lashes, and the brush is weird.
    Re-purchase? NO

ELF Eyelid Primer – I used this as an eyeshadow base to keep my eyeshadows on all day without creasing. This is colorless and smoothes in nicely. Hey, for $1, it’s pretty darn good.
    Re-purchase? YES

Rimmel Match Perfection Highlighting Concealer in Light – This is more like a cream highlight and not a concealer. It doesn’t have enough pigment in it to cover my dark circles, but it is a pretty highlight. It also creased pretty bad underneath my eyes.
    Re-purchase? NO

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW15 – This was my top concealer for 2013 for good reason. You can use this concealer so many ways, under the eyes, as tinted moisturizer, and on any blemishes or discoloration. No creasing, ad never looks cakey.
    Re-purchase? YES

Benefit It’s Potent Brightening Eye Cream – I liked this eye cream, I got quite a few uses out of this little sample. I didn’t notice any brightening, but it was hydrating and it had a pleasant smell. It also didn’t burn my eyes, which is a plus.
    Re-purchase? YES

Agave Healing Oil Treatment – Have any of you guys tried this? This stuff is freaking amazing! Why have I never heard of this before? I got two uses out of this sample, and I plan on going to Sephora and shelling out the big bucks for this. It smells like heaven- coconutty, piña colada heaven. I applied this to damp hair and then heat-styled my hair, and whoa. I could not stop touching my hair, it was soo soft and shiny. I really like this.
    Re-purchase? YES

Alright, so that’s it for my empties! I can’t wait to go throw all this in the recycle bin. Isn’t that such a good feeling to use up products? I love it.

Thanks for reading guys, and have a great week!

Review: Origins GinZING Refreshing Eye Cream

Hello friends! Today I have a review for you on the Origins GinZING Refreshing Eye Cream.

I picked this up from Sephora about a month ago, and I have been very pleased with it, so I decided to share my opinions with you.

This eye cream comes in a little orange glass jar with a white screw on cap. It contains 0.5 oz. and retails for $30. The jar is rather full when you first open it and it is a very pretty, pinkish-nude color, and has a light fresh scent.

Here is what it says on Sephora’s website:

    What it is:
A clinically-proven eye cream that instantly de-puffs and reduces dark circles.

What it is formulated to do:
Late night? Long flight? Look tired all the time? This natural, clinically-proven morning-after eye cream instantly reduces dark circles. Unsightly bags and puffiness virtually disappear. And Origins’ proprietary complex of caffeine from coffee bean, Panax ginseng, magnolia extract, and natural optic brighteners rapidly wakes up, refreshes, and restores radiance to tired eyes. Best for all skin types.

    What it is formulated WITHOUT:
    – Parabens
    – Sulfates
    – Synthetic Fragrances
    – Synthetic Dyes
    – Petrochemicals
    – Phthalates
    – GMOs
    – Triclosan

    Research results:
    – 86% brighter appearance
    – 80% reduction in puffiness

This eye cream does contain pigment and brightener which instantly makes you look more awake. You need just the tiniest amount for each eye, and it instantly hydrates and makes your concealer go on very smooth.

I am really enjoying using this eye cream, so if you are in the market for a new one, definitely check this one out!

Have a great day, and thanks for reading!

BEST Products of 2013 – SKINCARE

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week! Today I am continuing my series of The Best Products of 2013 with my top SKINCARE products.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer (2.5 oz., $14, drugstores)
This moisturizer is “clinically proven to even tone and texture”, and reduce hyper pigmentation. It contains SPF 30, and is oil free and hypoallergenic. I apply this in the morning before I put on my makeup, and it has a pleasant floral scent. It does not make your skin greasy, and sinks into your skin quickly. You only need one pump of this for your entire face, and it leaves your skin looking moisturized, and well, radiant.
Yes to Grapefruit Correct and Repair Dark Circle Correcting Eye Cream (0.5 oz, $15, drugstores)
This eye cream really packs a punch. A little tiny amount goes a long way, and it smells so good, just like grapefruit. This eye cream is paraben free, and uses powerful fruit acids to wake up the skin and brighten the under eyes. It is very moisturizing, and your under eye concealer will go on very smoothly with this. I don’t necessarily see any reduction in my dark circles, but I do not believe there is a product that works to reduce those. They are hereditary. Anyway, this is a great eye cream if you are looking for a great drugstore option!
L’Occitane En Provence Dry Skin Hand Cream with 20% Shea Butter (1 oz., $12, Sephora)
This hand cream is the best hand cream I have ever used. It claims to “protect, nourish, and soften hands”, which it does very well. You only need a tiny dab of this thick cream and it instantly softens your hands. Because of the Shea Butter, it takes awhile to absorb into your hands, but it leaves your hands so soft, even after washing. My hands get really dry in the winter, especially the back of my hands, and they will crack and hurt, so this helps a lot. I am also a compulsive hand-washer, so I am sure that doesn’t help either! This cream is pretty pricey, but I promise, it is worth it.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 for Dry Combination (13.5 oz., $23, Sephora)
This is a really great toner. I buy the version 2, for dry combination skin, but they have one for oily and dry skin also. I apply this to my freshly washed face with a cotton ball and just swipe it all around. It removes any leftover dirt and oil, exfoliates, and leaves my face feeling clean and refreshed! It doesn’t leave my face feeling tight or dry, either.
Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser (6 oz., $25, Sephora)
I use this cleanser with my Clarisonic, and it is a nice, gentle cleanser that foams up while you use it. It leaves my skin refreshed and moisturized, and it has a pleasant floral smell. A little bit goes a long way, so a bottle of this will last you forever.
St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub (6 oz., $3, drugstores)
This is my old stand-by. I have been using this scrub since high school, and I really love it for exfoliating. I use it about once a week, and it uses natural exfoliants to get rid of dead skin cells and makes your face feel SO CLEAN. It also prevents blackheads and minimizes pores.

So, those are my 2013 SKINCARE Favorites! Have you tried any of these? What do you think of them?

Next up, NAIL Favorites, so stay tuned!

Have a great day, and thanks for reading!

How To Get Smooth, Flake-Free Lips

Hi Guys! I’m back with a new post for you, and it’s all about how you can get smooth, flake-free lips! The weather is cooling off outside, and even though that means drier air for your hair (yay, no humidity), it’s bad for the ol’ lips! If you are like me, you get really chapped lips, and in order to wear those gorgeous fall lip colors, you gotta exfoliate and moisturize, girlfriend! So, here’s how to do it.

Let’s get all the dead skin off! Exfoliating your lips will leave them so soft and smooth. All you need is some sugar and lemon juice, and mix them together! Voila! A homemade lip treatment! Apply this to your lips and rub, rub, rub! The best part about this lip scrub is that you can just lick it off. Yummy. This preps your lips for some moisture.

I can never get enough of lip balm. My favorite is this Dior Creme de Rose lip balm, but you can use any lip balm of your liking. I also like these cool EOS lip balms, this one is in Dragonfruit. Applying these throughout the day and before you go to bed can help leave your lips soft.

    3. PRIME

If I am wearing lipstick, as opposed to a tinted lip balm, I like to apply some of this MAC Prep+Prime for lips. This is not a lip balm, it is a primer for lipstick. You apply it to your lips, and wait about 5 minutes before applying your lipstick. This adheres to your lipstick and helps with the staying power.

I LOVE tinted lipbalms! They are a one-step product for your lips, and super easy to apply throughout the day. My favorites are the Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue, which are different from the original Baby Lips because they have menthol in them to give you that nice tingle feeling. They are very moisturizing and give off a sheer wash of color. The other one I like is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose. This also gives sheer color while leaving your lips super soft.

Hope you guys liked this post! Have a great day.
