PLAY by Sephora | June 2016

I really LOVE this subscription box.  I get to try out so many different products for only $10 a month!  I always find myself really using every product I get, unlike the subscription boxes that I’ve gotten in the past.  This month’s box was one of the best I’ve ever gotten.

Like I mentioned, this box is $10 a month, and they will send you 6 deluxe size samples from prestige brands. There is currently a wait list for this box, so sign up here to get on the list ASAP!

Let’s get into the good stuff!

Tocca Florence EDP – I really like this floral scent.  I know some people don’t like getting perfume samples, but I love it!  I don’t often go perfume shopping, so I like to use these, decide which one I want, and then go and buy it.  This scent is very sophisticated and feminine.  It has notes of gardenia, violet, and jasmine.

Becca Backlight Priming Filter – when I saw this in the box, I was so happy.  I have had this in my online cart at Sephora pretty much since it came out, but I could never justify that price tag for a primer.  Now, I get to try it!  This is an light reflecting illuminating primer that is supposed to make foundation look amazing when layered underneath.  So excited to try this.

Bare Minerals Bare Skin Sheer Sun Serum Bronzer – I actually have not seen this product before, but I LOVE liquid and cream bronzers, so I think I will love this.  It doesn’t look orangey and it feels really silky.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara – I have loved this mascara for years, it does everything that I want a mascara to do.  It lengthens and gives a ton of volume.  I was happy to see this in the box.

Tarte Tarteguard Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 – this bottle is so pretty!  This is a sunscreen that is supposed to be lightweight and non-greasy.  I think this little bottle is perfect for taking to the pool or beach!  I’ll definitely use this.

Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It – I really like getting haircare samples, and they are always the first things that I use.  This is a styling cream that you can use on wet hair for texture and body.  I am all about air dried hair, so I’m sure I will love this- especially if it gives the beachy wave look!

That’s it for this month’s box!

What did you think?

Play! By Sephora | May 2016

Hey friends!  I am always so excited when I  see my Play By Sephora box waiting for me in the mail.  Right off, I noticed the packaging for this May box was different, but it still included great products!  Let’s get into it.

In case you don’t know, this box is $10 a month, and they will send you 6 deluxe size samples from prestige brands. You don’t take a quiz or anything, and you can’t select what products to receive. There is currently a wait list for this box, so sign up here to get on the list ASAP!

In all of the previous boxes, it has come with a separate box inside with all of the products.  This month, they have put the products in a little drawstring pouch, which I like!  I think using a separate box is kind of wasteful, and I can find a use for this pouch!  They still included the pamphlet with tips and tricks for using the products, and I really like that.

Origins Maskimizer + Drink Up & Clear Improvement Masks – I am a huge fan of Orgins, so I was happy to see a couple of mask samples and their new Maskimizer product in here.  The Maskimizer is basically like a primer for your face mask, and supposed to help it work even better.  There are also samples of the Clear Improvement Charcoal mask for deep cleansing, and the Drink Up hydrating mask for moisturization.  I love face masks, so I’m excited to try these!

Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine – this perfume smells of blood orange and geranium, and it is a very citrus-y scent.  This perfume is supposed to have a high concentration of essential oils, so we will see how long it lasts on the skin!

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair!  Deep Conditioning Mask – I am so excited to try this out.  I LOVE hair products, especially conditioning masks, and this one smells so good.  It has argan and avocado oils, which are very nourishing for hair.  I’m going to try this tomorrow!

Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial – I have tried a few things from Korres, but never this product.  This is a lightweight overnight mask that is said to moisturize and brighten the skin.  I love anything rose scented, so can’t wait to try this out.

Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon in Latergram – this looks like a nice nude lip pencil, and I love that it’s retractable.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick in Kimchi – this is hot pink color that reminds me a lot of MAC’s Candy Yum Yum lipstick.  This is a matte formula, and is supposed to be high-pigment and hydrating.

What do you think of this month’s box?

Play! By Sephora | March 2016

Hello!  Today I have my March Play By Sephora unboxing for you!  I really look forward to getting this box every month, and I am always impressed with what they send out.

This box is $10 a month, and they will send you around 6 deluxe size samples from prestige brands. You don’t take a quiz or anything, and you can’t select what products to receive. There is currently a wait list for this box, so sign up here to get on the list ASAP!

You’ll get the same lipstick printed box each time, and inside is a neat little book that tells you all about the products. It also gives tips and tricks for using each thing, which I love!  Let’s get in to March’s box!

Sephora Collection The Perfectionist : Airbrush Sponge – this is a double ended blending sponge that allows you to get into curves and contours on the face for a more even application.  Basically, it’s like the Beauty Blender, you soak it under water, give it a good squeeze, and stipple it (beat it) on your face till it’s all blended.  So obviously, this is a full size product, and it retails for $12.  I am really curious to try this out.  I love to try out new beauty tools, and I love sponges, so I’m sure I’ll like this!  It feels a little harder than the BB does, but if it doesn’t work for foundation, it will probably work for concealer!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper – this is one of the best liquid liners out there.  It’s got a super fine brush tip, it is jet black, matte, and stays put.  I’m really glad I got this.  It’s always nice to have backups of products you love.  This liner is almost the size of my full size, too!

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – this is a multitasking sunscreen, moisturizer, and primer that is supposed to visibly blur imperfections.  This product sounds awesome, and I really like Murad skincare.  I’m excited to try this.  This is a really good size bottle too, considering you will only need just a tiny bit.

Maison Martin Margiela ‘Replica’ Beachwalk Fragrance – this is a very beachy scent.  It incorporates bergamot, coconut milk, and lemon.  Something about it smells just like the ocean to me.  If you have ever smelled Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray for your hair, it smells EXACTLY like that.  I love this scent.  I am a floral scent type of gal, but I will use this because it smells so good.

Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer Oil – I absolutely love Smashbox’s PhotoFinish Primer Water, and use it everyday, so I was excited to see this in here.  It’s supposed to absorb quickly with just a tiny bit and add some radiance to the skin.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser – this is a gel cleanser with soy proteins, rose water and cucumber extract.  It’s supposed to be great and soothing for sensitive skin.  I have tried this before, and it is the only Fresh product I don’t like.  I love their masks, their scrubs, their lip treatments… but I do not like this cleanser, and everyone else that I know loves it!  I am not usually sensitive to smells, but this smells so bad to me.  It smells like cucumbers (which I do not like) but it’s like cucumbers mixed with nature.  Haha I don’t know but I don’t like it.  Really bad.  It also didn’t do much in the way of a cleanser, so I’ll just pass this along!  It is a really good size.

They also sent a little empty plastic sample jar.  It says in the booklet to bring it into store and they will color match me using their Color IQ, to show me what my best shades are for foundation and concealer, and give me a sample of my choosing.  Pretty cool!

Love this month’s box!

Are you subscribed yet?  Whatcha waiting for?

PLAY! By Sephora | February 2016

Hey guys!  I’m back today with a Play By Sephora unboxing.  This month’s box was full of makeup, which I was so excited about!  Let’s get into February’s box.

In case you don’t know, this box is $10 a month, and they will send you 6 deluxe size samples from prestige brands. You don’t take a quiz or anything, and you can’t select what products to receive. There is currently a wait list for this box, so sign up here to get on the list ASAP!

You’ll get the same lipstick printed box each time, and inside is a neat little book that tells you all about the products. It also gives tips and tricks for using each thing, which I love!

Bumble and Bumble Pret A Powder – this teeny size is adorable!  I actually really love this stuff- it’s a dry shampoo/texturizer that you use to soak up oil and add volume to the hair.  I actually have this in full size, and featured it in my 2015 Best Of Beauty!  PLUS, this same size (0.5 oz) is sold at Sephora for $12.  So BAM, the box has already paid for itself 🙂

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in N9 Copper Pink – this lipstick is a beautiful color and is super creamy. It is said to be  a great color for any skintone and a universally flattering shade, so  I’m excited to try it out.  I really like getting these mini lipsticks- they’re great to keep in my purse.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-In-1 Mascara – this is a mascara that is supposed to lengthen, curl, volumize, and condition lashes.  I may have tried this once before, but I don’t remember.  I am very picky about mascara, but this one has great reviews, so maybe I’ll like it 🙂  I love Tarte.

Tom Ford Black Orchid EDP – I already know that this is not for me!  I have smelled this before, and I will be passing this one along.  It is very strong, dark and pretty musky.  I just prefer lighter floral scents.  Perfume is a very personal thing for a person to pick out, and it’s hard to find the right scents sometimes.  I do love getting these samples every month though. I keep these in my car for a quick touch up.

Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner in Noir Intense – I already have this pencil in full-size, but I have yet to try it (makeup hoarder probs), but I am still glad to see this mini size in here!  You can never have too many black eyeliners, and just by swatching this, I can tell that it is super creamy and pigmented. 🙂

Bare Minerals Pop Of Passion Lip Oil-Balm in Plumberry Pop – This is a new product that just came out from Bare Minerals – supposed to be really pigmented and moisturizing.  It contains Maracuja Oil and is a beautiful berry color.

I am so happy with this month’s box!  I love how it had a lot of makeup, and even though I already own a few of the products, I can always use these for travel or backups.

I also like how they send fairly new products that have recently come out, like the Lancome pencil and the BM lipstick.  I will definitely use everything in this box except for that perfume, which I’ll pass along.

Play!  By Sephora | January 2016

I’m telling you, this box keeps getting better and better!  I’m so excited to share what’s inside the Play! By Sephora January box.

Sephora Collection Eye Mask in Rose – this is a moisturizing sheet mask that you place underneath your eyes.  These masks are hydrating and help to brighten up the area.  I’ve tried a couple of these, but not the rose one, so I am excited to try this!  I love these little masks.

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Original Formula – this is a daily two step facial peel that is supposed to be good for brightening up the skin and preventing the signs of aging.  I haven’t tried these, but I have heard that you can see a noticeable difference after just one use.  This set contains 3 treatments.  Can’t wait to try these out!

Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More – this is a wrinkle relaxing cream and helps to blur expression lines.  I do have a couple of fine lines around my eyes, so I’m going to see what it does to them.

Living Proof Prime Style Extender Spray – you spray this into your hair when it is wet, and it acts like a primer for your hairstyle.  I actually have this product in full size, and I love it!  It keeps my style looking great and my hair hardly even requires dry shampoo the next day!

Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight in Hefty Highlight – this is another item that I already own in full-size and love!  This is a cream highlighting stick that you can use on eyes or cheeks.  I love this so much, it is the perfect champagne gold color.

Tocca Beauty Isabel Perfume – I’ve never smelled this perfume before, but I’ve seen the different scents.  This scent is very floral and girly, but also sophisticated with notes of rose, bergamot and orange.

Once again, I am very happy with this box.  There were a couple of items that I already own, and that’s ok, I’ll just pass them along or keep them as backups.  I noticed with this box that I am using everything I receive each month, and that’s what I was wanting.  I think this box is a great value for the money, the eye mask and the peels alone are already over $10.
