My Homemade Apple Crumble

Hey guys! I make this dessert for my family and they love it. This is an apple crumble, and it is almost the same as an apple pie, except it does not have a crust, and it is not as sweet. Using fresh apples in a dessert tastes so much better than buying a storebought, frozen dessert, and it is a lot easier than you may think. I feel like this dessert is a lot healthier than apple pie, because it is not so sweet and sugary. It’s nice to eat on a cold day, so I thought it would be fun to share with y’all.

So, here is my recipe for my apple crumble – I hope you like it!

Ingredients :
6 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into thin slices
6 tbsp sugar, divided
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp cinnamon
6 tbsp cold butter, cut into small pieces
1 lemon, juiced
1/2 cup light brown sugar

Place all of the apple slices and half of the sugar (3 tbsp) in a pan and turn stove to medium heat. Heat up the apples until they start to soften – about 10 minutes, and then pour the apples into a casserole dish. Set that aside.

In a small bowl, combine the remaining sugar (3 tbsp), butter, flour, and cinnamon. Mix everything together with your fingers until it forms coarse crumbs. Set this bowl aside.

Take the juice from your lemon and coat your apples with it. Give the apples a stir and then pour your crumb topping over. Next, take your brown sugar and sprinkle that over the top.

Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until the top is nice and browned.

It is really good right out of the oven, and would also be tasty with some vanilla ice cream on top!

Hope you guys liked this and will try it! Have a great week!
